RULES FOR MARKING
It should be clear that your assignment would not get any credit if:
The assignment is submitted after the due date.
The submitted assignment does not open or file is corrupt.
Strict action will be taken if submitted solution is copied from any other student or from the internet.
You should concern the recommended books to clarify your concepts as handouts are not sufficient.
You are supposed to submit your assignment in .doc or docxformat.
Any other formats like scan images, PDF, zip, rar, ppt and bmp etc will not be accepted.
No assignment will be accepted after due date via email in any case (whether it is the case of load shedding or internet malfunctioning etc.). Hence refrain from uploading assignment in the last hour of deadline. It is recommended to upload solution file at least two days before its closing date.

In this assignment, students are provided with the design Car Indicator Light Circuit using basic 555 timer IC. We have designed this circuitry using “Electronic Work Bench” (which can be download from VU-LMS download section).
Car Indicator light working mechanism:
When the indicator is triggered, the indicator light will blink for a pre-defined N seconds.
We have used 555 timers in two different states.
• Mono-Stable State
• A-Stable State
Using Mono-Stable 555 timer, after triggering the switch (using Space bar in Electronic Work Bench) will generate 20 seconds UP clock signal.
A-Stable 555 timer is set to generate a clock with duty cycle of 50% of 2 secs (1 sec Clock UP time and 1 sec Clock DOWN time) and will be controlled through Mono-Stable 555 timer output.
By cascading these two 555 timers (Mono-Stable and A-Stable) the output LEDwill blink for 20 seconds (1 sec ON and 1 Sec OFF).
You are required to go through the 555 Data Sheet and Assignment # 04 Electronics Work Bench File (using Electronic Work Bench) and calculate the values for resistors R1, R2 & R3 to generate the specified timing cycles.
