Chat Rules

VUStudents is offering free services to its members and as a member you are expected to follow the chat rules to keep the chat environment friendly and acceptable for others. Please go through the following chat rules and have a clear understanding to be an effective part of the chat.

Bad Chat Etiquette:
When using the chat, you have to abide by the community members rules (http://vustudents.ning.com/page/member-rules) but there are specific things that you might do that are considered bad etiquette and will annoy some people.

No Bad Words:
Respect yourself first, so others respect you. Words you type represent you. Always be guided.

Flooding or Spamming:

Flooding or spamming is typing random numbers and letters for no reason or repeatedly sending a link. This is prevented by the terms of service and is very disruptive to the chat. People find it very annoying and if you do it you will find out that you are either banned or ignored.

Talking in CAPS:

Typing messages with CAPSLOCK on often annoys people, it is used to say that you are SHOUTING what you are saying. You can type in CAPS if you want but you should expect that people will add you to their ignore list. It is best saved for when you are really shouting something.

No Quarrelling:
Any members caught quarrelling or provoking anger using the chat shall be suspended from using the said applications. The terms of suspension depends on the gravity of the violation.

Advertising/No Inviting:
Commercial advertising is prevented by the terms and conditions but some moderators and members are not happy with people posting links, especially over and over again, to their chat groups, forums, blogs, multiply pages, etc. If you want to do this, it is best to check with the owner first. And please refrain from posting photos, videos and website/link (accounts outside our community) of other members without their approval.
