Objective of GDB
The prime objective of this discussion is to make students familiar with the importance of modern sources of communication to reach consumers.
After attempting this GDB students will be able to:

Emerging Communication Sources and Consumer Behavior
Today, modern technology has totally changed the way of communication and has challenged the traditional medium of communication. Now, the companies around the globe have adopted the modern communication methods to directly communicate with their customers. Companies directly send information of their new products, offers and reminders to target customer. Fax mails, voice mails and emails are those forums which deliver the message directly to the target consumers. The new breed of email ad uses animations, interactive links, streaming videos and personalized audio messages to reach out and grab the customer attention. Markets appropriately identify their target customers and deliver the information to them. Facebook, which is part of our social media, now emerges as a very effective marketing tool for the companies to deliver information about their upcoming offers and new launchings. Moreover, it has also the ability to change the behavior of their target customers around the globe. Companies like Apple, Samsung, and Nokia are using it very effectively with their own pages at Facebook.
In Pakistan, many reputed companies and institutions are also utilizing this tool to deliver the information and collect their valuable feedback. Virtual University of Pakistan, the first ICT based University in Pakistan, which deals with E- Learning mode of education has also launched their Facebook page.
