Dear All,
Please read below the assignment:
1) Nonverbal communication is a communication which does not require words. It is a language of symbols. When we talk we communicate with words and symbols. Always remember that symbols are more understandable than words. A small baby and infant is the true example of nonverbal communication. How a child communicate with his mother and how she understands what he is asking for. This way of communication remains with the person for the whole life.
Whenever a person say something and his actions are opposite always actions were understood not words. Words does not have meaning, we give meaning to words.
Appearance:
How a person look like? What dress he/she is wearing? Is his dress ironed and clean? His haircut, grooming everything counts. Actually we tell people from our appearance how to deal with us and at what level.
Good dressing, Polish shoes, suit with tie, light make up, loose or tight dress every thing communicate and tell about us. It also create credibility and trust worthiness among people.
Facial Expression (Face never speaks lie.)
Face is a real picture of a man. Whatever you think it appears on your face. Even if you say everything is fine people will not believe you, because your face tells them another story. Your words will not be accepted over your expressions.
Your eye movements, face muscles contractions and relaxations are automatically act according to the situation. If you are happy, smile comes on the face and color match the smile. If you are sad face color changed and muscles act accordingly. In danger the face becomes pale and you see fear on the face.
Eye Contact:
They are the most useable human part in communication. You can communicate any information through eyes. It express a persons desire when he wants to talk to you or want to avoid you.
When meeting new people and you maintain eye contact it shows your attention to them. If you look around when they say, it means you are not interested to listen them.
While discussing something if you look around or focus on something it shows your imagination and going back to the history. Eyebrows shows amazed or shocked movements.
Remember eye communication is sensitive across cultures. In western cultural maintaining eye contact show confidence. But in Asian culture it shows disrespect when you are talking to your elders.
Feedback:
Feedback is very important in communication. It tells you that your message is received by the sender. Did he understand and interpreted properly or not.
Five categories of feedback are below:
1) Evaluation: It helps you to evaluate that how much your message is understood. what went wrong if not reached properly.
2) Interpretation: Did receiver interpret your message in the same scenario as you send to them. Did they translate properly its important.
3) Support: To seek support or asking for assistance.
4) Probing: Enquire more to understand the message. Or asking more clarification to.
5) Understanding: Trying to find out what sender means and up to what extant.
EXAMPLES FROM VIDEO:
Appearance
Dr. Shahid is wearing shirt and jacket. His hairs are nicely combed. His has done his shave. This all communicate that he is well respected and know in his profession. He likes cleanliness. He feels easy in the studio and did not get nervous while facing camera this show his confidence and credibility.
Facial Expression
He smiles at female anchor when asked about the morning show. His face expression changes when telling her how the morning show started, who and where started. His face muscles contract and expanded when talking about media rating and the volume of business involved in it. His eyebrows comes close in the middle to show disliking. He expands them showing amaze and state of shock.
Eye Contact:
Look at his eye contact movements. He looked at the female anchor to show that whatever he is saying is true and based on facts. He also looks in the front or upwards when recalling history and explains details.
