sir, Serial port contains a special chip for input/output which can communicate in two different modes. Explore and describe these modes and which one is better in the serial communication. my question is about the question#1 of assignment #2 ..kindly guide me about the given statement are we write about the serial communication modes which are asynchronous and synchronous ???or we have write about special chip which is  UART chip and it modes   regards!

Read the question carefully. You have been asked about the modes of special chip not the modes of serial communication. Think on it, and find the answer. (very easy if you know about that chip)

The difference between Asynchronous and Synchronous is that Synchronous is the more efficient method of PC communication. However Asynchronous is the most common method of communication used for email applications, internet access and networking. Synchronous is usually used for transmission of large data bocks.

UART is attached with computer and perform serial communication

Modem attached with UART using RS232C

. RS-232 standard supports two types of connectors’ 25-pin D-type connector (DB-25) and a 9 pin D type connector (DB-9).

There are two modes that serial chip used for input/output operation

1. 25-pin D-type connector (DB-25)
2. 9-pin D-type connector (DB-9)

I think they are type of connectors not modes. Modes might be Asynchronous or synchronous.
