A B2C (Business to Consumer) online book store saves the state of a user's shopping cart across multiple requests because web-based applications are responsible for maintaining such state, as HTTP protocol is stateless. To support applications that need to maintain state, Java Servlet technology provides an API to manage sessions and allows several mechanisms. Multiple technologies are used for session tracking like cookies, URL Rewriting and Hidden form fields which you have studied in this course.
For example, a user visits B2C Online Book Store and he / she adds some books in the shopping cart then suddenly his / her connection disconnected. When he / she connects again and browses the website, he / she observed that his / her shopping cart information that he / she has previously added was saved / maintained, so that he / she can continue shopping. Here in this situation, how web application (B2C online book store) maintained the state of the user and which session tracking technique is more suitable and why? Give your suggestion with suitable reasoning.
Special Note: A concise, coherent and to the point answer is preferred over lengthy comment having irrelevant details. Answers, posted on regular Lesson's MDB or sent through email will NOT be considered in any case.
