Rent a Vehicle



Managing a rent company using manual system is a very tiresome job and takes longer to generate different types of reports. To overcome this problem we will develop a website for this company to be able to move their business online and to increase the availability and efficiency of their business processes.

The system should have the following features:

  • The system should have a user registration process in order to get login into the system.
  • Authorize user will insert detail of different vehicles.
  • User will enter detail of vehicle owner.
  • User will also enter monthly, daily and hourly charges for different vehicles.
  • Vehicle charges will be based on time duration and type of vehicle.
  • Customer will be able to view detail of different vehicles.
  • Vehicle owner detail should only be visible to company staff.
  • Customer should be able to book a vehicle for a specific time.
  • System should be able to disable booked vehicle.


  • Reports:
    • List of all vehicles (type wise, rent wise) 
    • List of available vehicle.
    • List of booked vehicle.


Tools & Technologies

Any modern tool or language for front-end| SQL or Oracle for database

D1   Define scope of the system, Extract Functional and Non Functional Requirements, Use Case of the transport management system.

D2    Design the DFD, ERD of the system and database design.

D3   Submit all database queries you have applied and snapshots of the results.


  • Your project database should contain personal information, all information about vehicle, booking information.
  • In first deliverable you will define the scope which describes that how this system is useful and how it works.
  • Use symbols for DFD and ERD you have studied in the course of “Database Modelling and Design”.
  • Take screenshots of your queries results, and paste them in your solution file (.DOC/.DOCX file).
