Assignment Questions

A request before solving it:

Dear Student,

This is very easy assignment which requires only the implementation of a given scenario. This implementation will build your understanding of real mode and protected mode limitations more clearly. So, do not paste your solution from any kind of source. Just do and describe the solution in steps if possible. Otherwise describes the reasons of No answer shortly.

Question:                                                                                                                               Marks 20

Question:

Ahwas installed 64 bit operating system on his PC. Unfortunately, his system crashed and could not boot even in the safe mode. He has two equal partitions of his 120 GB hard drive. He has an important data on his secondary partition. He has a DOS bootable USB drive with FAT16 structure. Is it possible for Ahwas to access his important DATA from hard drive and copy to USB drive through available DOS bootable drive? Give logical reason for your answer.

Note: Google the different possibilities for the given scenario assuming that it happen with you. Implement all founded possibilities on your system then suggest a feasible solution for Ahwas within steps. You also can use any other utility within the scenario limitations.

ð     Contact through Skype or email for any other query.

BEST OF LUCK

and one more thing dos not run directly in 64bit system for any purpose even you can not access directily bios services by default thats why 64bit system run vm (dosbox) inside for runing dos commands. even in dosbox 64bit not allowed to change itself ok dosbox (Vm) create a starderd pc for this commands access like virtual pc do..............

chlo fir farooq sir hme steps btaiooo

keo yu theak solution post kar da

wafa gi

ap step lekho ma bana deta ho

jo ap ko action required hai lekin ma abi thk assignment task ko samj nahi pa raha

i make bootable usb that run on bos (7.1)

Access NTFS data even without mounting.

copy paste data from hard to usb and hard to other attached external hdd

but assignment no ended here.

When you boot from a usb bootable device you don't have to mount drives , unless you attach after booting it .

you are  stuck in System (operating system) .  You need only One OS for this purpose. Thats bootable DOS(Microsoft disk operating system) .

i hope it clears your confusion. PM me if you still need any help.

Waqas Shahzad dos not mount NTFS formatted system internal hard disk partition.

Hard disk sentinel DOS can be used on a bootable USB device, like a pendrive, memory card (with proper card reader) or even a smaller hard disk. By using a such device, it is possible to get hard disk status information (like temperature, health and so) by starting the system from it, even if the installed hard disk(s) have no partitions, unreadable or a Windows driver blocks the detection.Benefit of FAT16 was to enable the use of smaller clusters, making disk usage more efficient, particularly for large numbers of files only a few hundred bytes in size, which were far more common at the time.

There are many low-level functions within DOS that you simply can’t easily get to with full windows. One of the largest needs to use a bootable DOS USB is to update drivers or a bios. It is very simple to do and will be useful for many different applications.

MS-DOS bootable USB flash is still very useful today. It could be used to access a system that doesn’t have any OS installed. Or, it’s mostly used to flash BIOS or other firmwares from DOS mode.

FAT16 does not support secondary partition more than 2 GB. FAT16 was introduced for older pc's. When HD is of small capacity. Other than this as Ahwas has 64 bit system which is also not compatible with FAT 16. So he can't access data using FAT16.
He can access data in only the way if he makes his USB drive bootable by fomatting it in FAT32 or NTFS....

NTFS volume can be accessed in DOS. Normally it
can not be accessed if the system has booted in DOS as the DOS device drivers do not
understand NTFS.

If NTFS volume is accessed in DOS, it will Fire the error of Invalid Media

If the system has booted in DOS then a NTFS volume can be accessed by an Indirect Method, using BIOS functions

Sector can be accessed by converting their LSN into LBA address and then using the
LBA address in extended BIOS functions to access the disk sectors.

ap sub log is ko parh len or apna ans yes k sath likhen, is assignment me bus yehi kam hai.

AbdulRauf Bhai
