How to Study In a Best way In VU: Some Important Tips

Every Semester a number of students take admissions ...VU Study is not easy. Many person take vu study easy and do not give full attention to study and in the end they see a bad result. 

So according to my experience in Virtual University of Pakistan , I want to share some methods to study in VU.

Visit daily your VULMS for checking latest on lectures and opening of any new assignment/ GDB/Online Quiz etc. Also see announcements, and see you profile, fee and other important issues,,,

Here are few very important tips for getting excellent / very good grade:

1. Plan your activities of whole semester.

2..  Keep all the notes, books and handouts ready on very first day of classes.

3. Make your time table and follow it strictly.

4. Read the lesson once before listening it.

5. Listen the lecture with full concentration.

6. Make your own notes.

9.Watching a video lecture is compulsory.

10.Not only memorize but also understand the concepts thoroughly. You must learn application of concepts.

11.In exams, always write “to-the-point” answer for every question. “Time management” is more important than writing long stories.

12.Always do past Quizzes with reference provided on www.vustudents.ning.com ....and try to learn the concept of "why this option of mcq is true?" ....and search it in handouts...and capture the key concept behind that mcq.

13.For quick Revision You can go through the Lecture Power point slides provided in your LMS

14.Do lots of Past papers before and during exams....mostly mcqs come from the past papers.

How to Get started with VU?

VU Course Selection

The first most thing is course selection ...Almost in every semester there are 6 subjects, When you login to your vulms  1st time you see default subjects, you can change them before closing course selection date.

For Course selection click on "Student Service" on ur LMS 

Select "Course selection" from the list 

Check the subjects u want in current semester 

Click on "Save the changes"

 VU Videos Lectures

The key thing vu is videos lectures. Our Great professors prepared videos lecture in a easy so we can understand easily. As all of our professors are PHD and have great experience of their fields. In vulms there is option for Lectures Schedule. Click on Lectures Schedule and see time table of lectures per day. There are 3 to 4 lecture per day. Watch Video Lectures and Note Questions and topics that cause problem for you.

VU Handouts

Handouts are prepared from video lectures. watch video lecture and read handouts and note questions and problem and topics that problem for you.

VU Online Quiz:

It’s the most important activity. All subjects will have mostly 4 quizzes in total, 1-2 before and rest after Mid Term. It’s graded and you have specific time to answer the questions. Here some help is also rendered by us on

https://vustudents.ning.com/ , where all the students are coping the online Quiz during taking the quiz & paste the quiz in word file , then share on https://vustudents.ning.com/ that help to the other students. So all of your requested specially copy the your online quiz & share 

VU Assignments:

These are also graded but some time they are non-graded. None graded May/ or may not be submitted. But graded must be submitted in time. Never just copy and paste from any source. It can earn you and the originator both Zero marks for forgery.

So just take the idea for your assignment from https://vustudents.ning.com/ & make in your own words that will be best for you otherwise you will be get the zero marks & the sharing person also. So always try to just take the Idea & make in your own words.

MDB: Moderated Discussion Board

Ask questions from your instructors and get answers. Please be respectful in choosing your words to the teacher. Be concise and to the point.

GDB: Graded Discussion Board

This is used for the test through discussion on a specific topic by the instructor/ teacher. It’s graded and must be answered in given time. Answer must be as per the prescribed rules to the instructor. Never just copy and paste from any source. It can earn you and the originator both Zero marks for forgery.
