ASSIGNMENT # 01 CONFLICT MANAGEMENT (HRM624)

Scenario:
Mr. Hassan is working under the supervision of Mr. Usman in Production department ZoCon, a manufacturing company. Mr. Hassan has been assigned a new task to design a new production assembly line on the basis of his operational experience. Mr. Usman has provided him with a framework to perform the task in a specific order to increase efficiency. Hassan has gone through the whole plan and thinks that if he rearranges the specific order such as he performs step 5 before step 4 then it would work more efficiently. He is in the perplexed situation that he should discuss all this with his supervisor to change the order of tasks or not?
After reading above scenario, answer the following questions by using your course knowledge.
Q1. What do you think Hassan is facing interpersonal or intrapersonal conflict, justify your answer. 5 Marks (Word limit: 50 -75)
Q2. Do you agree interpersonal or intrapersonal conflicts strengthen the relationships? Why or why not? 5 Marks (word limit: 100-150 )

NOTE RELATED TO LOAD SHEDDING: PLEASE BE PROACTIVE Dear Students, As you know that Pre Mid-Term semester activities have started and load shedding problem is also prevailing in our country. Keeping in view the fact, you all are advised to post your activities as early as possible without waiting for the due date.
For your convenience; activity schedule has already been uploaded on VULMS for the current semester, therefore no excuse will be entertained after due date of assignments, or GDBs.

It is intrapersonal conflict ..which is relates to inner situation of Mr Hassan.
Intrapersonal is a conflict within your own self. For example, debating on whether you should go to that awesome party or study for the big test tomorrow.
Interpersonal is a conflict between two, or more, people. For example, two people debating over whether the baseball player was out or safe at the base.

I agree on that conflicts do not always have to be destructive. In fact, in many instances, Interpersonal or intrapersonal conflicts are incentives that cause us to take action to accomplish a particular goal. Getting issues out in the open and on the table allows teams to evaluate an issue with more complete information and, in the end, to make a better decision.
Although it is often assumed that people avoid conflict, many people actually enjoy conflict to a certain degree because it can be the stimulus for new thinking. Considering a different point of view which represents conflict can open up new possibilities and help to generate new ideas that might otherwise have not been considered.
Encourage constructive conflict across the teams in your organization. They will enhance their performance. Conflicts help to make better decisions, to get better information, to have better choices, to encourage collaboration and to increase understanding. When a conflict develops and the result lead to everyone getting involved, it is a good conflict. Conflicts can be good for organizations because it encourages open mindedness that many organizations fall prey to. Working toward collaboration is desired in many companies and if the process involves conflict to get there, so be it.
