My name is Umair Abid and I am student of BS(SE) at virtual university. I enrolled my self in 2009 fall but due to job I wasn't able to keep up with my studies so I had to freeze my semester during studies.
Last year, I started my studies again but a friend told me that HEC wont award degrees if your total number of semesters exceeds 12.
My current semester is 6 and according to my estimation it will take at least 14 semesters to complete my degree. I went to VU head office to know if this is going to be a problem but they said no and I can continue with my studies.
But, just to clear my doubts I wanted to know if someone has been in this situation and want to make sure that I wont face any problems after completing my credit hours?

It will be no problem for you. I myself froze my degree program for 1 year and resumed. Currently I have cleared my degree program and my degree is also verified by HEC.
Can you tell me your total number of semesters you had to take in order to complete your degree
You should not be in any doubt when VU told you there is nothing to worry.
