# Phy101 Fall 2016 Assignemnt No.1 Due Date: 24-11-2016

PHYSICS (PHY101)
TOTAL MARKS: 25
Due Date: 24/11/2016
DON’T MISS THESE Important instructions:

To solve this assignment, you should have good command over first 11 lectures.
Upload assignments (Microsoft word) properly through LMS, (No Assignment will be accepted through email).
All students are directed to use the font and style of text as is used in this document.
Don’t use colorful back grounds in your solution files.
Use Math Type or Equation Editor etc for mathematical symbols.
Write to the point and avoid from unnecessary explanation. Don’t copy/paste from internet or any other source.
This is not a group assignment, it is an individual assignment so be careful and avoid copying others’ work. If some assignment is found to be copy of some other, both will be awarded zero marks. It also suggests you to keep your assignment safe from others. No excuse will be accepted by anyone if found to be copying or letting others copy.

Don’t wait for the last date to submit your assignment.
Question. No: 1

a) Write your opinion on the following statement.
Is it true or wrong to say that “No acceleration means no forces are present”?
b) Is it true to say that “A projectile has zero acceleration at its peak”.
Either yes or explain with reason. Marks = 5 +5 =10

Question. No: 2

The coefficient of kinetic frication is 0.25. What is the magnitude of the tension force in the rope shown in the figure? Marks = 7

Question. No: 3

A student of Physics applies a constant force of 25Newtons while lifting a heavy Physics book up into the air a distance of 2.0meters. How much Work does the student do on the book?
1) 0joules, because gravity pulled down on the book
2) 5.0joules
3) 50 joules
4) The answer cannot be found without knowing the mass of the book.
5) The answer cannot be found without knowing the net Force on the book.
*Write the detail reason of your above selected choice as well. Marks = 4+4 =8

3)50joules

Reason:
w=F.d
w=25N.2m
w=50Nm
w=50joules (-: Nm=joules)

plz help me to make me whole assignment

Q 2??

frndz plz help me uplod the assignment phy101?????????????????

• Normal force (N) = 1.6 kg × 9.8 (acceleration from gravity)
• Force from kinetic friction (Fr) = 0.25 × 1.6x9.8 Newtons
• Force from acceleration (Fa) = 1.6 × 2.2 = Newtons
• Total tension = Fr + Fa = 3.52 + 3.92 = 7.44 Newtons.

any body plzzz help to slove this assignment

jisko solution chahye inbox me

yeah inbox me ka button kehan hain

Question. No: 1

a) Write your opinion on the following statement.
Is it true or wrong to say that “No acceleration means no forces are present”?
Yes it is true by formula
F=ma
When
a=0
Then
F=m (0)
F=0
b) Is it true to say that “A projectile e has zero acceleration at its peak”.
Either yes or explain with reason.
In projectile motion the velocity has two components,
1. The horizontal component of velocity remains constant therefore the horizontal component of acceleration is zero during the whole journey therefore,
(a)x = 0.
2. The vertical component of velocity changes continuously and becomes zero at the summit point (peak point) but the vertical component has acceleration which is the acceleration due to gravity therefore,
(a)y = -g.
Question. No: 2

The coefficient of kinetic frication is 0.25. What is the magnitude of the tension force in the rope shown in the figure? Marks = 7

By formula
F=µN
Here force of friction acting as a tension force
So
T=µma
=0.25×2.2×1.6
=0.88
Question.

5) The answer cannot be found without knowing the net Force on the book
Option 4 is true because in the question mass is not mention by formula we know that
W=P.E=mgh
Here g and h is mention but m is not mention

w=F.d
w=25.2
w=50Nm
w=50 joules..

And we not need mass baceuse force is given.
