STA301 Statistics and Probability GDB No.1 Solution

Dear Students,

Graded Discussion Board (GDB) for STA301 will be opened on May 14, 2015 and will remain open till May 15, 2015. The topic of this GDB is,

“Why an average computed from a frequency distribution is not exactly the same  as computed from the raw data? Give the reason”.

Your comments should NOT exceed from 250 words.

yh bht confusing hain agar just reason btani hai to us k lie sab methods ko discuss krna hoga k nhi.....kindly seniors discusss here about this GDB ,,:(

AND KINDLY SHARE SOME clicking metrial which may help us .....

particular star dear question ki to smj a gai but ans ...:p

Average are ways of describing what is typical, normal or usual. In average frequency we construct the result in many ways. There are many methods for constructing the average result. And every method give us the different result from the previous method. An average is defined as the number that measures the central tendency of a given set of numbers.

An average is single value which is intended to represent a set of data or distribution as a whole. It is more or less central value round which the observations in the set of data. Average indicates the location or general position of the distribution on the X-axis.

Because in average method we conclude the grouping numbers in a specific manner and they give us the whole data result.

Raw Data:

But in raw data numbers or materials collected that represent a measurement or variable it is unorganized and unprocessed. Raw data is a unanalyzed data i.e data not yet subjected to analysis. Raw data is unprocessed or unorganized source data such as the data from an eye tracker which records the coordinates and movement of the eye every millisecond. Raw data processing would be required in order to correctly extract information required without errors. In simple words we can say that raw data is the data that has not been processed for meaningful use. And they give us the unanaluzed result which is different from the average computed result.

i think so there are no much more difference between two averages, there is a slightly difference which can be neglected. as the example given in the above link

Average frequency we manufactured in more ways. Each method tell us the different result from the previous method. An average exact value that represent a data set or distribution as a whole. Average method we terminate grouping numbers in a specific way and we give all  result data.An average is meant numbers that measures the central tendency of a given set of numbers.Average frequency describe the average number of time it is base of meausure scheduel intensity. Average shows the location or position of the distribution on the X-axis.While in raw data numbers or raw materials collected data representing a measurement or variable is unorganized and unprocessed. Processing the raw data would be required in order to rightly extract the required information without errors. We say that  average data easliy distributed in different according to his grouping reason then the raw data can not be operate further more Now we say that raw data is the data that has not been processed for meaningful use. That’s why they give us the unanalyzed result that is different from the average computed

This solution will help you

Raw data average and frequency distribution average is not same always but there is a slightly difference between them and can be neglected. In statistics, a frequency distribution is a table that displays the frequency of various outcomes in a sample. a frequency distribution is used to calculate the approximate values of various descriptive measures. Raw data processing would be required in order to correctly extract information required without errors. In simple words we can say that raw data is the data that has not been processed for meaningful use.
