Respected Vice Chancellor / Rector / Head of the Institution,
I am directed to circulate a communication from Pakistani Embassy in UAE dated February 21, 2021 on the subject. It has been informed that The UAE Federal National Council has passed a new draft law outlining strict penalties to prevent the use of forged/fake degrees and education certificates by citizens and expats to get jobs in government agencies and private firms, or for any other purposes, even if they claim ignorance about the authenticity of their documents. Jobseekers who use fake degrees to get work in the UAE may face two years of prison and a fine up to 1 million Dirham. The new draft law also targets recruiters and employers who knowingly accept fake degrees. As reported, the UAE authorities caught 143 fake degrees and certificates from foreign universities during 2018.
In view of the above, it is requested to strictly ensure genuineness of the issued educational documents so that Pakistanis visiting the UAE for jobs may be prevented from landing in any trouble.
