What are scalars and vectors?
Scalars are quantities that are fully described by a magnitude (or numerical value) alone.
Vectors are quantities that are fully described by both a magnitude and a direction.
Photopic vision of the eye under good light conditions approach . In humans and many other animals , photopic cone cells mediated by Color vision care , vision and scotopic a significantly higher compared with the available visual acuity and temporal resolution allows .
Three bands of color in the human eye to notice the light uses three types of cones . Biological pigments cone about 420 NM ( blue ), 534 NM ( blue -green ), RESP wavelength of maximum absorption values . 564 NM ( yellowish green). Their sensitivity ranges across the spectrum have a common vision to provide . The maximum utility 555 NM ( green) wavelength of 683 lm / W is
Scotopic vision under low light conditions eye view. Opia meaning a condition of the period of darkness and skotos comes from the Greek meaning . Human eye cone cells are nonfunctional in low light - scotopic vision 498 NM ( greenish-blue ) wavelengths of light around the most sensitive and about 640 NM ( red ) wavelengths than indifference exclusively through rod cells that is produced .
Scotopic vision 10-2 to 10-6 cd / m² at the LUMINANCE occurs . Other species in low-light conditions, the colors are not blind . Elephant Hawk Moth (Deilephila elpenor) advanced color discrimination in the dim starlight shows .
