Data structures are optimized so that a large document collection can be
Crawled, indexed, and searched with little cost. Although, CPUs and
bulk input output rates have improved dramatically over the years, a
disk seek still requires about 10 ms to complete. Data structure is
designed to avoid disk seeks whenever possible, and this has had a
considerable influence on the design of the data structures
“Data structures provide many positive aspects like minimum disk-space efficiency, proper data management but at cost of complexity?” What you think?
Idea Solution 1

In computer terms an algorithm is expensive if it utilizes more computer time and resources but provides less results.
A storage media is the slowest and time consuming device, used in a computer system.
The data structure utilized disk more efficiently, with any complex calculation required, is always cheaper than the data structure used more space, and read and write takes more time, with small and less efficient algorithm.
So we can say any complex calculation done in processor is efficient, as compare to the more read and writes done at the disk level to acess data.

Idea Solution 2

It is seen that Data structures that consumes less space at disk, are more efficient.
Whatever complexity in a data structure, is consumes processor shared time, but still this processing time is less than the accessing the data from a disk.
So even though lot of process and calculation required to place and retreive data from a disk, is always less than time taken than required in calculation.
thanks a lot
