To learn and understand basic concepts of different levels of Data Flow Diagrams (DFD’s).

Q. Draw a Context as well as Level 0 Data Flow Diagram (DFD) of any Food Ordering System.

Guidelines / Requirements:

The context level diagram must contain a major process and external entities like CUSTOMER, KITCHEN and RESTAURANT MANAGER.

Level 0 diagram must consist of major functions like capturing data, maintaining data (data stores), producing and distributing data to different processes and should work as follows:

Ø      When a Customer Places an order, System should Receive and Transform customer order (Customer Order should be processed) can be labeled as process 1.

Ø      Then there should be four streams, or flows of data. (i) the food order is transmitted to the kitchen (ii) the customer order is transformed into a list of goods sold (iii) the customer order is transformed into inventory data, and (iv) the process generates a receipt for the customer.  



Ensure that you can analyze existing manual system and can draw Data Flow Diagrams of any proposed system.



Before Starting you should study and understand:

              Rules for drawing DFDs.

              Differentiate different levels of DFDs.
