This is to inform you that Graded Discussion Board (GDB) will be opened on 6th February 2019. Students will be able to post their comments for 48 hours after it opens.


GDB Statement

A hardware manufacturer has succeeded in a bid to develop computer laptops for Virtual university students doing research on digital image processing. The manufacturer could either use Superscalar architecture or Very Long Instruction Word (VLIW) as underlying technology for laptops. Ignoring the cost factor, the company wants to focus on:

  1. High performance
  2. Reduced design complexity
  3. Dynamic execution
  4. Knowledge of program variables                       

As a computer architect, what would be your choice of technology in the given scenario? Justify your selection with logical reasons in either case.
