Consider that you are a middle level administrator in an institution named “Information, communication and Technology School & College” and your duties include the overall administration where you are acting as bridge between the whole staff (including the Administration staff, Faculty, Finance department etc) and the CEO/Head and Board of governors of the College. Your duties are to look after academic and administrative information direction circulating within the college departments.
For any institute or organization, it is mandatory to exchange information to achieve the main objective of that organization. There exist reporting relationships among different departments and People working in that Institution/Organization. This follows a proper Hierarchy i.e. everyone is answerable to (or answers to) the person at the next higher level to which he or she is connected. At the same time, people are also responsible for (or give orders to) those who are immediately below them.
The Flow of direction of Information is in Upward, Downward and Horizontal directions.
Now, you are required to identify the given activities either Horizontal, downward or upward.
1- Let’s say, to get a commitment, a sense of belonging, and a unity of direction among staff members the higher authorities of college try to motivate staff members to adopt the institution's mission, cultural values and to participate in different ceremonies, such as picnics, workshops, and campaigns. (Marks=3)
2- Let’s say, to get some degree of uniformity in College/organization practices, procedural and practices messages defining the college’s policies rules, regulations, benefits, and structural arrangements information is transmitted to staff members through board and organization. (Marks=3)
3- Let’s say the Suggestions and idea messages are being sent to the management for improving task related procedures to increase the quality or efficiency of organization members. (Marks=3)
4- Let’s say that feedback is given to the individual or the department in the College in the form/shape of Departmental progress reports and individual performance appraisals and other means are used to tell departments or individuals how well they are doing with respect to performance standards and goals. (Marks=3)
5- Let’s say the informational messages from different departments containing the
periodic Performance reports to inform the Leaders how individual College/organization members and departments are performing. (Marks=3)
6- The informational messages related to costs, accounts receivable, interest on investments, tax levies, and other matters of interest to the board, central administration, and building-level administrators. (Marks=3)
The Informational messages between the departments take place between members of the same department in a College concern task accomplishment/ problem solving. (Marks=2)
