 Question 1:  Part (a):  

Solution:

In Frequency Modulation, signal requires  the 10 times bandwidth of original signal to be broadcasted

So,

Modulating signal with a bandwidth of 15 KHz.

Answer:  Bandwidth of broadcasted signal  = (10)(15KHz)

                                                                       = 150 KHz

 Answer:

Bandwidth of Modulating signal = ƒ(Hz) =  7000Hz-4000Hz  = 3000 Hz

Now , converting into KHz 

                                                                  = 3000/1000 =  3 KHz

Bandwidth of broadcasted signal =  ƒ(KHz )  = (10)(3KHz) =  30Khz

 

Question 1: Part (b):                         

Solution:

In Amplitude modulation, signal requires twice the bandwidth of original signal to be broadcasted

So,

Modulating signal with a bandwidth of 6 KHz.

Answer:  Bandwidth of broadcasted signal = (2)(6KHz)

                                                                      = 12 KHz

Modulating signal with frequencies of 3000 to 6000 Hz

Bandwidth of broadcasting signal = ƒ(Hz) = 6000Hz-3000 Hz

                                                       = 3000 Hz

Now, converting it unto KHz

                                                         = 3000/1000

                                                          = 3 KHz

Bandwidth of Broadcasted signal  = (2) (3KHz)

                                                          = 6 KHz
