Assignment Objective:

  • To give you hand on experience of Ubuntu though VMware
  • To know about different directory structure
  • How to work on Ubuntu terminal
  • How to compile a program using gcc compiler and execute a program through terminal

Uploading instructions:

 

  • Your assignment must be in .doc format (Any other formats like scan images, PDF, bmp, etc will not be accepted).
  • Save your assignment with your ID (e.g. bc020200786.doc).
  • No assignment will be accepted through email.

Rules for Marking:

 

It should be clear that your assignment will not get any credit if:

  • The assignment is submitted after due date.
  • The submitted assignment does not open or file is corrupted.
  • Your assignment is copied from internet, handouts or from any other student

      (Strict disciplinary action will be taken in this case).

Question

In this Assignment you have to do the following:

  • Install Ubuntu using VMware with your name, and this option is given in the start when you install Ubuntu using VMware.
  • After login, open terminal
  • Through terminal command, make a new directory on desktop with your own student id like mc123456.
  • Write a simple hello world program using any of the Ubuntu editors and save this program with helloworld .c in your student id directory.
  • You have to compile helloworld.c program using gcc compiler command in terminal and after execution show the output of this program in terminal.

You have to send us the screen shots of the following tasks

 

1-      Screen shot of login Ubuntu (user must be your name )

2-      Screen shot of making directory (name with your student id) in terminal and open this directory in terminal

3-      Screen shot of compiling a program in terminal using gcc compiler

4-      Screen shot of executing a program in terminal

 

Note: No need to send program file. Just send screen shots of above mention tasks.

 

 

Deadline: Your assignment must be uploaded/submitted on or before 23-11-2015
