Many problems are non- Boolean, meaning they are more clearly defined in terms of variables than domains with true and false. A non-Boolean formula is made up of variables that have sized domains. Thus, non-Boolean formulas generalize Boolean formulas. The traditional approach to solving a non-Boolean formula is to translate it into a balanced Boolean formula and solve it with a Boolean solution. The straightforward way is to modify the Boolean solution to run directly on Davis Putnam's non-bid non-bull formula. The success of the NB Walk has led to speculation that Davis Putnam's non-Bolen generalization may have a similar effect. The project has developed a non-Bolen version of Davis Putnam's methodology and is experimenting with it from a translation point of view. The results show that as the size of the domain increases, the direct method performs significantly better than the translation method on a number of issues, while the translation approach in others. It is more efficient. Performance is analyzed, the strengths and weaknesses of each of the methods are discussed, and a series of possible improvements is presented.
An understandable model for domain entities is Boolean algebra where "o" represents the process of joining. So together with the non-Bolean somehow Bolen came out.
