Task 1: [Marks = 3 + 2 + 5 = 10]
Write a C program using TurboC Compiler
a – Read and Print extended partition information using 13H service for total number of tracks, sectors and heads.
b – Read and Print LBA (Logical Block Address)
c – Calculate and Print CHS by writing function calc_chs(). Input parameters in ‘task a’ to the function calc_chs.
Task 2: [Marks = 2 + Task 1 Marks + 3 + 5]
A presentation is required that contains slides having detail as described below;
ü Your 1st slide contains your VU ID, Name, Course name and title (that is CS609)
ü 2nd slide shows your code in text form. (Use multiple slides if your code is not covered in one slide)
ü 3rd slide contains screen shot of output window showing required output of Task 1
ü 4th and last slide is showing functionality of function calc_chs()
ü Attach a voice clip in 4th slide that describe the functionality of calc_chs function. The clip length should not be more than 3 minutes.
Task 3: [Marks = 5]
You have to convert your ppt slides into power point slideshow file (PPS / PPSX).

LBA = ( (cylinder * heads_per_cylinder + heads ) * sectors_per_track ) + sector - 1
This algorithm can be reversed such that an LBA can be converted to a CHS:
cylinder = LBA / (heads_per_cylinder * sectors_per_track) temp = LBA % (heads_per_cylinder * sectors_per_track) head = temp / sectors_per_track sector = temp % sectors_per_track + 1
