Is it possible for Ahwas to access his important DATA from hard drive and copy to USB drive through available DOS bootable drive? Give logical reason for your answer.
Note: Google the different possibilities for the given scenario assuming that it happen with you. fat16 best for dos command
we use 13h ext (BIOS Function) command for access hard disk without any device drivers in dos.
koi tou exact solution post kr dye
handout page no. 310
The following slides explain how the NTFS volume can be accessed in DOS. Normally it
can not be accessed if the system has booted in DOS as the DOS device drivers do not
understand NTFS
Accessing NTFS volume in DOS
• NTFS volume can not be accessed in DOS
using DOS based function like absread( )
etc.
• DOS device drivers does not understand
the NTFS data structures like MFT etc.
• If NTFS volume is accessed in DOS, it will
fire the error of Invalid Media.
How to Access NTFS volume using
BIOS Functions
• If the system has booted in DOS then a
NTFS volume can be accessed by an Indirec
Method, using BIOS functions..
• This technique makes use of physical
addresses.
• Sector can be accessed by converting their
LSN into LBA address and then using the
LBA address in extended BIOS functions to
access the disk sectors.
ic ko zra ghoor sy parhien...plz reply k Ahwas k pass jo hard drive ha wo NTFS file system e ha. becuse its more than 2 GB ha...so kesy access ho skti ha hard disk? by using bootabl DOS USB with FAT16
plz reply soooon
any one please upload the right solution
dear friends i read all your comments that posted in previous pages,
i advise all of you, just listen lecture no 40 at least one time, then you will be able to easily conclude about this assignment,
for the sake of simplicity i want to tell all of you that, " it is possible to access NTFS file structure in dos with the help of BIOS functions, we can access data indirectly with converting LSN(logical sector number) into LBA, because FAT16 is using LBA. one more thing to remember that we can access NTFS data with using the physical address. to achieve physical address we have to convert LNS into LBA.
now plz dont discus further about 64bit or 32 bit, you just focus on data accessing with only FAT16 usb drive.
there is no need to show any data copying, you just tell in assingment with logics its possible to access.
yar problem ye nahi k fat16, 2gb, dos.
sirf ye k 64bit system ma dos ki value kiya hoti hai.
wo to sub ko pata hai k 13h ki extn use ker k hum data access ker skte hai lekin.
dear, Farooq Yousaf, ap k sawal he ajeb hote hen.
sirf ye k 64bit system ma dos ki value kiya hoti hai.
kia maltab ha is swal ka?
Kisi ni 64bit System Use kiye ?
we know that dos run on CHS partition in CHS just 24bit width size that support maximum
8GB if we convert this CHS to LBA 32bit Size we access more then 127gb and with LBA 64bit thats support 8 zetabyte,
