Assignment Questions

A request before solving it:

Dear Student,

This is very easy assignment which requires only the implementation of a given scenario. This implementation will build your understanding of real mode and protected mode limitations more clearly. So, do not paste your solution from any kind of source. Just do and describe the solution in steps if possible. Otherwise describes the reasons of No answer shortly.

Question:                                                                                                                               Marks 20

Ahwas installed 64 bit operating system on his PC. Unfortunately, his system crashed and could not boot even in the safe mode. He has two equal partitions of his 120 GB hard drive. He has an important data on his secondary partition. He has a DOS bootable USB drive with FAT16 structure. Is it possible for Ahwas to access his important DATA from hard drive and copy to USB drive through available DOS bootable drive? Give logical reason for your answer.

  • Select Disk Management,
  • Right click on the drive letter corresponding to the USB drive and select Format,
  • If the key has a capacity of more than 2 GB, choose FAT32.
  • Confirm with OK.

64x Archtecture supports both OS 32 and 64 bit .  64 bit scene is only to confuse us.

Dos only runs through dosbox on a 64bit system , but we don't have to go into 64 bit OS.

Further more , Rufus is a program which can make a DOS bootable drive. google it. no Linux/ubuntu required. for making a bootable drive.

that's my point if 64bit fully loaded system not allow to run directly dos  so ?

oh bhai mere have you ever installed an Operating system using a bootable USB or DVD . ?

When you boot from a bootable device operating system can not do anything , you can format it from that device , or can do whatever you want .

If you try to understand the real question then you will know , you have to boot from bootable device, in our case its DOS bootable USB. and backup files. kis chakar main par gaiy ho ?

yar ma bi 7th semester ka he student ho.

and do also all thing like bootable live os dms.

Yes, Data can be accessed and recovered through DOS bootable USB drive as FAT structure makes it easy to recover lost files.

Yes, Is it possible for Ahwas to access his important DATA from hard drive and copy to USB drive through available DOS bootable drive . Because when any kind of virus or windows problem, you can boot from boot able cd and then perform ms dos commands to copy your data into your usb drive. just like

c:\> copy myfile.dba f:\myfiles
the above dos command copy the myfile.dba into f: drive's folder myfile

sir ji yahan ak ristriction b lgi ha us ko koi b undrstand kar rha ahwas k pas usb fat 16 ha jis me data copy krna ha. ap jst  ye hi na dekho k data copy ho skta ha ya nahi  sath me usb jo use krni ha wo b dekho k data us me ktnaaa skta han fat 16 2 gbse zeada data nahi copy ke skti  jb k ehwaas ne 60 gb data othana ha
