GDB of CS614 will be launched on Monday, August 04, 2014 (04-August-2014) and will last for 48 hours only

The topic will be as follows:

Consider the following table structure:

ProductID (Primary key, Integer, Not NULL)

ProductName (String, Not NULL)

ManufacturingDate (Date, Not NULL)

ExpiryDate (Date, Not NULL)

Category (Integer, Not NULL, Refers to Category column in Category table)

UnitPrice (Float, Not NULL)

Question: Suppose we want to create index (primary) on this table. Identify the indexing technique, you think is best to consider in this case. Justify your answer with valid reasons.

Note: Try to provide precise, to the point answer and avoid irrelevant details.

thnx u al friend

zakki is k answer is tara ni dena

ProductID (Primary key, Integer, Not NULL)

zakki ab samaj ye ni a rahi k karna kasy hai...

I think question ka answer is trha nahi dena because following structure only one table header ka hai.

ProductID (Primary key, Integer, Not NULL)
ProductName (String, Not NULL)
ManufacturingDate (Date, Not NULL)
ExpiryDate (Date, Not NULL)
Category (Integer, Not NULL, Refers to Category column in Category table)
UnitPrice (Float, Not NULL)

Means given table is looks like as following,

Product ID

[Primary Key,

Not Null]

Product Name

[String,

Not Null]

Manufacturing Date

[Date, Not Null]

Expiry Date

[Date, Not Null]

Category

[Foreign Key,

Integer,

Not Null]

Unit Price

[Floating,

Not Null]

you are right waqas khan pore table k lea jst ak indexing ho gi wo bitmap hai

waqas bro table mein kasy define kar dn..

Table main define nahi krna just ye btana hi k kon se indexing technique Best hi. like Bitmap indexing, Cluster indexing or Invert Indexing, jo k given table k leay best hi. with some reasons.

Syeda Shahzadi Bukhari (BS 8th ) humnay sirf indexing technique ka batana ha na kay table solve karni ha.

choose bitmap indexing and see tarik malik statement

in the given table there are two keys 1 Primary Key and 2 Foreign Key. In the video lecture No 27, example of bitmap Index had The City Table and Tech Table. these tables have no foreign key. in both the tables only SID is the unique key that is (Primary Key). what you think about it.

as i think the clustring is best for this scenario... we can cluster products by there type like dairy, electronics , food.... etc...

what u think guys???
