QUESTION # 1:DISCUSS CHEMICAL BONDING OF ALLOY STELL? ANSWER :Metallic bonding, positive ions in a sea of electrons. Explanation: In a metal, each metal atom is conceived to donate a few of its valence electrons to the lattice, such that metal nuclei acquire a positive charge. This non-localized metallic bonding is believed to be responsible for the general properties of a metal: malleability, ductility, conductivity to heat and electricity. The alkali metals, lithium, sodium, potassium, rubidium, have only the 1 electron to contribute to the metallic lattice. Alkali metals thus tend to be soft, and low melting. Many electron metals, such as iron, have higher melting points, but do retain malleability and ductility at elevated temperatures.So, steel is a metal, and as such displays metallic bonding . What makes steel steel is the addition of a little carbon during its manufacture (up to 1-2% w/w). ROLE OF ORAL CAVITYFood selection is one function of the oral cavity. Oral cavity has tongue with taste buds. Food selection takes place by taste buds if food tastes bad it is rejected. Tongue converts the ground food mass to a bolus. Grinding the food is the other important function of oral cavity. Oral cavity contains teeth for this purpose. Dentition is according the food types. Teeth are of four types; incisors, canine, premolars and molars. Human have all four types of teeth; few animals have others. Lubrication and chemical digestion is another function of the oral cavity. Salivary glands secrete saliva which contains amylase for digestion of starch. It also contains mucous for lubrication of food.
