OBJECTIVE OF ACTIVITY
To enable students to understand the basic functions of HR that helps in operating the Performance
Management System (PMS) in order to achieve the strategic goals.
After attempting this assignment students will be able to:
Comprehend the importance of HR functions and its key characteristics for making the process of
performance management effective.
Swam Tech Ltd, a smartphone company, is facing a high level of uncertainty regarding
productivity due to employee’s inefficiency and poor work practices. Human Resource
Department is planning to bring the reforms based on the latest HR practices for employees’
efficiency maximization. In order to improve an organization’s productivity, modern practices
must align PMS with HRM practices which ultimately direct the individual’s effort towards
strategic goals attainment. Hence, this integration is practiced by the company in order to create a
high-efficiency culture by managing and developing employees.
After reading the above-mentioned case, write at least two possible positive outcomes this
integration can bring to Swam Tech Ltd.? Enlist and explain the three basic functions of HR which
facilitate to improve employees’ efficiency after integration. Support your answer with sound
