Question # 1
What is the importance of cooperation in the workplace environment with the relevance of conflict management?

Answer

We can define the cooperation in the work place as

“Cooperation is our aim in our lives, to help others achieve things not
only for peace but for the advancement of human society. In order for it
to work you must devote a large part of yourself - without greed and
jealousy - to fulfilling work which aims to help the world.”

Importance of cooperation in the work place

To achieve something, we need to cooperate so that we achieve what we
are trying to do. If we don't talk to each other and you want to tell
someone something, it doesn’t get done, does it? If people do what they
say they will do then it gets done.

In the workplace, you are likely to find two forms of conflict. The
first is conflict about decisions, ideas, directions and actions. The
second form, "personalized conflict" is often called a personality
conflict.

Workplace conflict is commonplace, but managers who can incorporate
certain types of conflict management strategies that work will soon be
able to achieve their goals and minimize disruptions. Managers will
successfully eliminate conflicts and turn the situation into a
problem-solving opportunity that will ultimately benefit the entire
office. Collaboration is one of the conflict management strategies, this
conflict management strategy is considered one of the most successful,
but it needs the right environment to work.

Cooperation leads to productivity, "team morale", and a generally good
working atmosphere. Cooperation is a necessity for resolving a
conflict/may build an environment of peace. Cooperation comes firstly
from within us. In order for it to work you must devote a large part of
yourself - without greed and jealousy - to fulfilling work which aims to
help the others. To achieve something if you are part of a team, of any
kind we need to cooperate so that we achieve what we are trying to do.

Question # 2
What do you think is there any danger to employees in a move to increase Work place cooperation?
Answer

Yes I think there are different dangers for the employees in a move to increase work place cooperation

There are following dangers that can be face to a employee in a work place cooperation

It is a sad fact that, increasingly, employees face hostility from
clients or the general public, often this can become a dangerous
situation, especially if the situation or circumstance is
Miss-interpreted by either party.

Such situations can very quickly escalate with either party exposed to
an act of violence and the subsequent of legal implications is the thing
that is must be acted on such.

These occurrences very often occur as part of the job role or whilst
executing the job itself. As a consequence the employer, under the
Health & Safety Act, must make provision for staff training to
eliminate or reduce the possibility of work related violence

The Heath and Safety at Work Act imposes the requirement that the
workplace must be safe: Employers have a legal duty to ensure the work
place and environment is safe.

Employee and employer must recognize that the work role can sometimes be dangerous.

The Health and Safety Executive defines work related violence as anis
assault or threat which occurs while the victim is/was working and was
perpetrated by a member of the public.

This Code is intended to focus the Board and each Director on areas of
ethical risk, to provide guidance to Directors to help them recognize
and deal with ethical issues, to provide mechanisms to report unethical
conduct, and to help to foster a culture of honesty and accountability.
Here it has some steps as conflict of interest, corporate opportunities,
confidentiality, fair of dealing, protection and proper use of
corporation assets, compliance with law, rules and regulations

Question No 3
In your opinion what type of steps the management of the organizations might be Taken to protect the interests of workers while facilitating an environment of Cooperation?
Answer:

By having a solid program in place, it will help to protect you and your
organization. Below are some steps you can take to develop and
implement an exemplary disciplinary action program.

Although terminate an employee “at will,” (with or without a reason),
itusome states can is still important to have clear and concise
disciplinary policies and procedures in place.

Ensure that upon hire, new employees read all of organization’s policies
and procedures (regular and personnel). To verifyuthe this, have them
sign and date a form stating that they read and understand all policies
and procedures.

uYour procedures should contain verbal and written warnings to the
employee. When an employee violates a policy or procedure, talk to him
first to ensure he is aware of and understands the violation

issueuIf the employee violates the policy or procedure again, a written
warning. As with the verbal warning, documentation should include what
the violation was, the date it was committed, and what was discussed to
re
Red Zone organizations are made up of individuals who are short on
“Green Zone” qualities such as trust, optimism, and goodwill. When a
project fizzles or fails in a Red Zone workplace, people turn to shame
and blame—focusing not on what went wrong, but on who did wrong.

A Red Zone organization isn’t a fun place to work. People aren’t excited
to be there. Most everyone favors victory over solutions. And they
waste more time and energy on self-preservation than they spend on
bottom-line priorities.

To stand a chance of keeping their stars, Red Zone organizations often
dangle carrots such as bigger-and-better pay, perks, or bennies. Still,
productivity and morale suffer because Red Zone attitudes fog the
corporate culture.

A Green Zone environment, in contrast, is a fun place to work. Employees
work together to pursue a shared vision. They value collaboration and
get the job done with a strong sense of teamwork and excellence.

Sure, Green Zone qualities can’t save a company that makes lousy
products or offers crummy customer service. Yet, studies show when all
else is equal, Green Zone organizations enjoy long-term profitability
and growth, while their Red Zone counterparts suffer in all areas. Some
companies even

So can Red Zone organizations move into the Green Zone? And can
employees at all levels learn to collaborate? Absolutely!. Collaboration
isn’t magic. It’s a mind-set and a skill-set—both of which can be
learned—that can make a big difference to a company’s bottom line.

I don’t think that corporation can be dangerous to employ to increase
workplace cooperation. Cooperation at work place creates a .Responsive
and pleasant environment for the employees which lead to enhanced
Performance and decreased conflicts at the work place

“Conflict Management (HRM624)”
Assignment No. 2 Marks: 10
Mr. Ali has purchased a shop and rented it to Mr. Shakeel (his elder brother) with the
agreement to increase the rent @ 10% per annum. Mr. Ali found a job in a Multinational
Company and therefore left the country. Mr. Shakeel deposited the rent of the shop at a
uniform rate (without any increase in amount) in the bank account of Mr. Ali.
Mr. Ali came back to Pakistan after five years and demanded to have a 40% increase in rent but Mr. Shakeel neither wanted to loose the shop nor wanted to have an increase of 40% in rent. In that shop his business enjoys the advantage of good repute and favorable location. Both parties have decided to arrange a meeting to resolve this issue through negotiation.
Question:
Now being the student of Conflict Management consider the types of power in relationship
domain, which type of power can play the most effective role in resolving the conflict if you consider yourself in place of:
a) Mr. Ali
b) Mr. Shakeel
Give logical reasons to support your choice in both positions.
Note: Try to write your choice clearly (in bold) at the top and then write reasons in the bulleted form. Please note that your choice and supporting points should be rational and brief.
Unnecessary details will result in marks deduction.
Solution:
While negotiating, Mr. Ali can use normative and expert power to strengthen its position.
Mr. Ali deserves the right to demand an increase of 40% in the rent as at the start of the
period both of them agreed to increase the rent @10% per year but Mr. Shakeel did not
pay the rent as per agreement .To be on the “right” side of the issue gives Mr. Ali the
ability to convince other party. As well as having the knowledge that Mr. Shakeel is
legally bound to follow the agreement and the consequences of non compliance creates
the situation in which Mr. Ali can use Expert Power.
Shakeel does not have any legal/ moral surroundings to stand as he was not paying the
rent from last 5 years according to agreement. So the power which Mr. Shakeel can use to
resolve the issue is the coercive power (the power to impose negative & unpleasant consequences). It may include to damage the property, to irritate some person & to create
expensive outcomes. All are illegal ways to force some one to achieve the desired
outcome.
thanx sir but its not the solution of required assignment...its current assignment plz send me idea solution of it..

1 Legal limitations The propose solution for this issues is :
That all the rights and transferring process should be protected by the Government laws because in these days corruption is at peak and every document needs a check from honest Government Officers. Other wise conflict can be occurring on the basis of corruption and laws violence.

2 Legal statuses the proposed solution for this is:
That we should review land legislation including succession and family laws and check that is the conflict is right according to the documents.

3 Executive and legal authorities after this we should review the land documents, legal authorities and administration roles and their responsibilities and check that all are working in order.

4 Boards should comprise of this some legal authorities so that this body can be justified To settle the conflict due to which things are not working probably we should use the adjudication process so that the judge reviews evidence and argumentation including legal reasoning set forth by opposing parties to come to a decision which determines rights and obligations between the parties involved.

5 Hierarchy of organizing body or council the council should be honest towards its work and should make the right decision to solve the problem. Or there is another option we can develop or implement a meditation community for the betterment.

6 Span of control the number of subordinates under a manager should be according to his or her efficiency so the he can handle them successfully.

7 Operationalization
Of devised plan after watching and checking all these things we should revise our plan and when the plan is in its operational stage like identifying policy options to facilitate to access land and agreeing on strategies etc. we should make the decision carefully.

8 Transparency should be insured the plan should be transparent so that every one can see its efficiency and applicability for this we should work with local authorities to build an accurate plan.

9 Phases of project there are basic stages to make project:
Initiate: we should see the project scope and should gather some information about its parties.
Plan: in the next stage we do all the above discuss things.
Execute: in this stage we should see all the process which is taking place in the current situation.
Evaluate: it’s the last stage in which we gather the results and observe what happened and why? Is it better for the conflict or not.

10 Outcomes and benefits including ; cost and benefit analysis We should check the outcomes and benefits by taking some measures applied by the authorities
Is this confirmed correct, tariq bhai?
HRM624, CONFLICT MANAGEMENT IDEA SOLUTION

The problem has the beginning with the partition of Indo-Pak sub continent in 1947 when the migrants from Indian part of sub-continent were not allotted the properties in a just manner properly due to corruption and many other factors. At present, the patwar system is running the land affairs in Pakistan. This system is now obsolete in terms of addressing the issued being faced now. These factors also contributed to the land-disputes in our country. As a result of land disputes, too many violent incidents took place, resulting in loss of lives also.
If we take the examples of NADRA, FBR and Vehicle Registration, where the state of affairs was similar to land related issued and as a result of success of the up-to-date plans these departments are functioning properly.

The proposed solutions are mentioned in the below table to address the issues:-

3 Executive and legal authorities>> These authorities should work at central and provincial level.

4 Board should comprise of some legal authorities so that status of this body can be justified>> Now is the strong urgency to include some retired judges/advocates in the system.

5 Hierarchy of Organizing body or council.>>
 Central Level
 Provincial Level
 Division
 District Level
 Tehsil Level
 Union.Council

6 Span of control>> Director General at central level and Provincial Director at provincial level

7 Operationalization of devised plan>> By the involvement of the government, this plan cab be made operational

8 Transparency should be ensured>> Handling of the data with utmost care at every stage and fully functional complaints cell which should be easily accessible by every citizen

9 Phases of project>>
 Union council/mohalla level
 Tehsil level
 District level
 Division level
 Provincial level
 Central level

10 Outcomes and benefits; including cost
benefit analysis>>
 Eradication of corruption
 Supremacy of the law
 No duplicate registrations
 Overcoming land fraud
 Getting rid of land mafia
 Facilitation in case of any dispute
 Prompt verification of the ownership
