Forgiveness in Islam:
Forgivenesss in islam has greatly appreciated. The words “Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful” are repeated many times throughout the Quran.
There are two kinds of forgiveness in Islam:
1. Allah’s forgiveness:
Individuals who commit a sin ask for forgiveness directly from God; there is no intermediary.
When sincerely asking for forgiveness, Individual should not be repeated sin again. There is no limit to Allah’s forgiveness. No matter how much you’ve messed up, God forgives. The name of Allah in Qura’an occurs “Al Ghafoor” (the most forgiving).
Allah said in Qura’an,
Allah “O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you.”
“Allah does not forgive shirk (without repentance) but He may forgive every other sin for whomsoever He wills.”
2. Human forgiveness:
Human beings are not perfect. Everybody makes mistakes in life and unknowingly commits sins. So forgiveness is a critical aspect in Islam.
Allah said,
Show forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the ignorant.
(Surah E Al Araf)
Allah said,
“The reward of the evil is the evil thereof, but whosoever forgives and makes amends, his reward is upon God.” (42:40)
Allah said,
Punish with an equivalent of that with which you were harmed. But if you are patient - it is better for those who are patient." (Quran 16:126)

Retribution in Islam:
Security and stability are basic human needs, Man has been conscious of the need for security since the beginning of his life, for this reason Islam introduced the limits and boundry in Islamic terms used for punishment in which imposed by Islamic Shariah. The basic sins which are punishable is zina, drinking alcohol, robbery, kill a person etc.

Allah rooted a hudud and said,
As to the thief, male or female, cut off his or her hands: a punishment by way of example, from Allah, for their crime: and Allah is Exalted in power.

"And We ordained for them therein a life for a life, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, an ear for an ear, a tooth for a tooth, and for wounds is legal retribution. But if anyone remits the retaliation by way of charity, it shall be for him an expiation. And whosoever does not judge by that which God has revealed, such are the wrongdoers." (Quran 5:45)
