Discussion Question

Being a part of an online education system, do you think that the experience of asking queries via emails and MDBs is fulfilling the communication needs of students or would you like to seek the assistance via face-to-face interaction from teachers? Support your answer with comprehensive arguments.

Read the following instructions before giving your comments on GDB:

  1. Use the font style “Times New Roman” and font size “12”.
  2. Your answer should be relevant to the topic i.e. clear and concise.
  3. Do not copy or exchange your answer with other students.  Two identical / copied comments will be marked Zero (0) and may damage your grade in the course.
  4. Books, websites and other reading material may be consulted before posting your comments but copying or reproducing the text from books, websites and other reading materials is strictly prohibited. Such comments will be marked as Zero (0).
  5. Obnoxious or ignoble answer should be strictly avoided.

share your idea friends

idea b share kr dy na koiiiiii

maray kahayal sa face to face acha hai

emails or mdb ka zary nahi

face to face conversation is better

I believe it is some how a comparison between traditional learning and online learning. Main focus is we as a student of VU are satisfied the way we communicate with lecturers? Are lectures delivered serve the purpose? Are our questions are answered properly? How soon we get reply on our questions? and many other key points.

My GBD is complete now but I will upload tomorrow evening only.

Not at all.

1) If a student ask any question the reply is not immediate.

2) How words will express the feeling, emotions and urgency of the question?

3) What about if student is not satisfied with the answer? another email and wait for next day to get the answer.....?

4) Human touch is missing between a teacher and student. If we can learn everything from books and notes, no need of teacher.

Dear +5 Paki Student,

It's not blaming. If you decide that the current system is good, you do not work to improve it. As a result the system fail or did not produce expected results. It is said "good is the enemy of great"

Answer the following questions will highlight your understanding for Face-to-Face communication.

1) Did you understood the assignment properly? If yes than why did you ask clarification in your post? You should not be discussing with the students online?

2) What if you have an opportunity to discuss with your teacher live, you immediately ask question and ask again unless you are satisfied?

3) The discussion here is a proof that we lack face-to-face communication which in result force us to seek more information on the topic.

4) Motivation does not exits in writing. It conveyed through emotions and feelings we do not find in emails and MDBs.

Look at this example of discussion between me and you and find the answers?

1) What is your name? I don't know. (Anonymous name +5 Paki Student)

2) How old are you? No idea?

3) Which part of Pakistan do you belong? No idea?

4) How do you look like? No idea?

5) How can I describe your personality? I don't know..... still I am chatting with you.

I can only guess about yourself based on your hidden ID and written messages. Your hidden ID says you want to hide yourself. Your written message says that you do not have average English writing skills. The sketch of your personality in my mind is that What I have received and amy be I AM TOTALLY WRONG.

This is the point to understand! Why face-to-face communication is important.

face to face converstion hi tek rahti hai hum ko agar kisi point ki samjh na ay to hum usi wakt sir, teacher sa pocho sakty hai but online study ma humy kum sa kum 1 day wait karna parta hai

Also online learning gives you a robotic sense. You are using tools unable to transfer your satisfaction level.

em totly confusd ................

It means the communication through email and chats are not solving the purpose. It needs face-to-face communication.

This is exactly asked in the question.
