Discussion Question

" Improving Communication skills "

In traditional universities, students face their teachers in a live environment due to which their communication skills are more refined as compared to students in a distance learning environment. In the context of virtual university, that strives to fill this gap by introducing live adobe classes and face to face sessions in campuses. To what extent do you agree that these activities are helpful for improving communication skills of students? Also, give suggestions for further improvements.

Read the following instructions before giving your comments on GDB:

  1. Use the font style “Times New Roman” and font size “12”.
  2. Your answer should be relevant to the topic i.e. clear and concise.
  3. Do not copy or exchange your answer with other students.  Two identical / copied comments will be marked Zero (0) and may damage your grade in the course.
  4. Books, websites and other reading material may be consulted before posting your comments but copying or reproducing the text from books, websites and other reading materials is strictly prohibited. Such comments will be marked as Zero (0).

Formal Group
Often called task-oriented groups, formal groups often search for answers to problems, look for a
course of action, make recommendations to a higher authority. This means that you and others
may meet to change a policy, make decisions on how a specific problem should be solved, and
decide on the beginning steps to implement a solution.
Formation of Groups
Groups go through four formative stages in becoming a group.
Forming: Here the group tries to get started. It is the orientation phase for group members.
Storming: Members begin to stake out their positions; they begin to have conflicts and
Norming: Progress begins here. Members work to solve conflicts and recognize acceptable kinds
of conduct.
Performing: Here the group begins to achieve its

After extent I Agree with the above statement that these activities are helpful for improving communication skills of students because Being students in face to face session tell your teacher they are important to you and the issue you are discussing is worth your time and theirs. Your focus will get people’s attention and increase the potential for your message to be heard. When you are face to face, you can see and respond to people’s reactions – like facial expressions and body language – as well as their tone of voice. Teachers have the chance to show they care by asking probing questions and actively listening to understand the audience’s perspective. Teachers need to build students to be effective. Because Face-to-face interaction allows you to share your strategy, explain it clearly, and answer questions honestly. Employees see how actions align with words, which enhances teachers’ credibility and trust.

Dear Students Don’t wait for solution post your problems here and discuss ... after discussion a perfect solution will come in a result. So, Start it now, replies here give your comments according to your knowledge and understandings....

MCM401 GDB Solution Fall 2017

Yes I agree Public relations to help the organization develop and maintain relationships with all of its key publics and stakeholders by effectively communicating with these groups. Communication is key in maintaining satisfactory, long-term, trusting relationships with publics and stakeholders.
The public relations entirely in house, others opt to outsource all public relations functions. Others strike a balance in which in-house public relations efforts are complemented by the work of an outside agency. A good example of an agency campaign that has increased product sales while raising awareness and establishing a company as a concerned corporate citizen is campaign. This unique cancer awareness and fundraising campaign has making a donation for every pink yogurt container lid mailed back into the company. The campaign has not only raised awareness and funds
