Q 1: Definition:
The lead or intro is the starting sentence of a news item. It contains the most important features and the facts and figures of the news story. Since it is the crux or the gist of the event that is being covered, it needs to be short, crisp, comprehensive and catchy.
A headline is normally a brief summary of the main points of the story and must be completed within a line comprising word not more than 48 in any way.
Keeping in view the objectives of Radio and news values, your task is to create a lead and headline from the following information:

The IMF sees inflation jumping from 2.9 per cent last year to 5.2 per cent this year, while the Bank sees it at 4.6 percent. The current account deficit is also seen to be widening, to 1.5 per cent of GDP according to the IMF and 1.7 percent according to the World Bank, which attributes the increase to “moderate growth in exports and rapid growth in CPEC related imports.” This figure was 0.9 per cent last year. Marks

“Moderate growth in imports and CPEC imports”
By IMF, last year inflation was 2.9 percent and this year it’s 5.2, while by bank it’s 4.6. Trade deficit is also widening, to 1.5 of GDP by IMF and 1.7 by World Bank, which increase “moderate growth in exports and CPEC imports.” It was 0.9 last year.

Q2. Keeping in view the news element and value, you are required to prepare two news stories for Radio on the current scenarios:
India –Pakistan Relationship:

India and Pakistan had a sort of “cold war” since Nov 2008. Pakistan and India had a dispute this year. The issue of the dispute was Kashmir and the terrorism.
On the 70th anniversary of both countries India and Pakistan bold words marked.

Nawaz Sharif, prime minister of Pakistan said “I dedicate this year’s 14 August to the freedom of Kashmir. I dedicate it to those people of Kashmir, who bravely faced the state oppression but kept the spirit of freedom alive,”

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his annual Independence Day fired back to Pakistan as saying “They glorify terrorists who attack us,” he said, reminding the world that “India “cried with sorrow” over the death of 130 children who were killed two years ago during the Peshawar massacre.”

After exchanging those unfriendly words, there was no friendly relation left in both countries. Modi even neither did a surprise visit to Pakistan nor there had a call in both countries to celebrate the religious events like Eid etc.

Moreover there started a cold war between both countries. The people of both countries stood against opposite countries and were ready to fight for their nation. Many of the army soldiers were killed in this war but the gain was nothing.

Karan Johar the film director of the India was threatened to remove Pakistani actors from his film. Many other actors like Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan and Karan Johar were against this and Karan Johar said that this is not the solution of the war to remove actors from the film.

Raiwind March 2016:

PTI leader Imran Khan arranged Plan B of raiwind march 30 September, 2016. He had mammoth gathering right there in his jalsa. There were approximately 17,000 to 20,000 people in his jalsa.

He did a speech there. In which he mentioned many points about Nawaz Sharif and he said that he do not consider Nawaz Sharif as the ruler of the nation. He moreover criticized him by adding the deeds of corruption of him in the country.

In it Imran khan said “We are going to give Nawaz Sharif time till Muharram to present himself for accountability,” he said. “We will not let the coward rule this country.”

He said he would next march to Islamabad and would soon announce its date.

Where as other politicians also criticized Imran Khan for doing this jalsa.

thank u
