Ms. Tina recently joined her new office with a better salary package than previous one. She is a passionate worker and ready to face challenges. Positive point of her earlier job was her Good Boss. But bad salary swayed her to switch. Currently her Boss Mr. Hamid is an unpredictable, difficult and demanding man who has certain way of doing things.

Few weeks of interaction with her boss put her intensifying concerns into a complaint to a higher authority. But her intimidating thoughts as a new employee ceased her. At this moment, her colleague Mr. Hassan approached her and said: “Sometimes Bad Bosses oppress unsympathetically but they teach us to become a good manager in disguised way. It is all about attitude either Face the storm or quit the game.”

1.      Good Boss versus Good Salary, what should be Tina’s choice to enhance her motivation, commitment to job and productivity level? Justify your answer keeping in view the above scenario.

i think good boss enhance motivation. 

If everything is good, but the Boss is bad; then everything goes for a toss. If you find your Boss is good, your salary will be good, you will receive due recognition in time. Your Boss is the window to the outer world.

i think difficult bosses  lead us for more productivity, because bad bosses are challenge for us, we can learn so many things under their management. mr hassan is right.

yes.. i agree with you hasnain.. 

. A moody or difficult manager or boss also provides us the opportunity to become a good boss or leader according to the Mr. Hassan. We can learn from our boss’s mistakes. A difficult or a moody boss contributes to our development. He serves as a model of what not to do as a boss. There is an opportunity for us in every type of boss. We also should analyze the sensitivity that our boss or manager has more responsibility or authority than us. One should be confront or adapt the specific culture that every work environment has. Confrontation can also be helpful in dealing with problems or micromanagement.

 

According to my point of vies Good boss zyada axhe se enhance kar sakta hai motivational level ko by the following reasons:

Feed his/her employees by inspiring quotes

Involve them in planning and development

Use performance review to teach, inspire and guide

Encourage and guide them toward greater achievement

Provide definitive guidelines then let them go

Continually Provide an Updated Outline of Current Activities

Supply an Annual Calendar for Business & Personal Planning

Be Considerate of their Vacation Time

Be Humble But Firm

Favor Love Respect Over Fear Respect

Treat them with Respect and Trust

See Them in the Best Light

Get Rid of Bad Apples

Praise, Recognize, & Publicize Outstanding Accomplishments

Shepherd their Advancement & Promotion

bad boss hampers the motivation for that just see the comparison of good and bad boss:

In my opinion, Hasnain and Sehrish are thinking on correct lines. Pease keep in mind the present situation in which Ms Tina is. Do not think independently that without good boss there is no motivation to work.
