Task: Identify and Enlist Change Management Practices

Assignment Rationale:

In the last two decades, there has been an exponential technological advancement, accelerating competitive pressures, expending boundaries through globalization, digital revolution, regulatory reforms, and development of new organization forms. These factors have created opportunities and threats that organizations need to address if they are to survive and prosper. 

Managers at all levels must be competent enough at recognizing, identifying, planning, and implementing the change in their respective organizations. They must be able to bring sustained change and there is no single recipe that can be applied to all organizations at all times. This activity is aimed to explore contextual change management processes/practices of organizations operating in Pakistan.  

Learning Outcomes: 

After attempting this assignment students should be able to: 

?  Understand indigenous change management practices, models/processes of organizations

operating in their respective regions. 

?  Comprehend the processes applied in the selected organization to bring and manage


?  Improve communication, intellectual, and technical skills while conducting interviews of

industry executives about change management practices. 

Requirement:  (20 Marks, 4 marks for each question)

?  Conduct  an  interview  of      Top  Management  Executive/Manager/Official    of  any

renowned organization operating in your area about its change management practices. Preferable number of employees of selected organization should not be less than 50.

?  Ask the following questions in order to inquire about change management practices of

the selected organization.   Record verbatim answers to all questions asked from the

respondents,  and  then  identify  key  points/concepts  from  respondent  answers  and

provide those key points at the end of every answer.

Q1: How do your organization recognize the need for change?

Q2: After recognizing, how change process is started at your organization? Q3: How do your company plan and prepare to change?

Q4: How your company implement the planned change?

Q5: How do your company manages the people issues (Power, Politics, and Stakeholders Management) while implementing change?

 Important Instructions regarding Interview.

  1.  Prior to the interview, take the appointment and consent from the respondent.
  2.  Take student ID card while visiting the interviewee.
  3.  Inform the respondent about the topic and purpose of this interview.
  4.  Ensure the respondent about his/her confidentiality.
  5.  Try to record the interview so that you may not miss any important information.
  6.  In case of no recording facility or permission, do write the responses with due care.
  7.  Ask the questions exactly as they are written in the questionnaire.
  8.  Read each question very slowly and clearly    .
  9.  Repeat the questions which are misunderstood.
  10.  Ask the probing questions, where required.
  11.  Do not terminate the interview, unless all questions are replied.
  12.  Information obtained during interview should be as free as possible from researcher’s



?  Any act of plagiarism like copy paste from internet will result in ZERO marks. 

?  Assignments reaching after the due date would not be considered.         

?  Make sure to upload the solution file before the due date on VULMS. 

?  Any submission made via email after the due date will not be accepted. 




?  Use the font style “Times New Roman” or “Arial” and font size “12”. 

?  It is advised to compose your document in MS-Word format. 

?  Use black font color only.

?  The file you uploaded does not open or is corrupt.

24 hours extra/ grace period after the due date is usually available to overcome uploading difficulties. This extra time should only be used to meet the emergencies and above mentioned

due dates should always be treated as final to avoid any inconvenience.
