Differentiation of OD from other improvement startegies

Learning Objective– To enhance the understanding regarding the organizational development and its difference from the other improvement strategies.

Learning Outcome - After going through this activity, the students should be able to know the basic difference between the OD and other improvement/growth strategies in organization.

Case

Agro chemical, Polypack and ECI are in the manufacturing business in the chemical industry of Pakistan. All the three businesses have a good image in the market and have captured a lot of the portion of market. Currently all the three businesses are facing loss. The businesses hired the services of OD practitioners in order to find the main causes of the loss and to take some corrective actions.

Given is the case of all organizations, the report and actions of OD practitioners & management.

Agro chemical: The practitioner revealed that there is excessive number of employees and suggested the management for downsizing. The management took the action and with this action the company production capacity declined but the company came to a breakeven point.

Polypack: The practitioner hired by Polypack search out that the organization has to bear a lot of expenses to safely devastate the wastages. The management decided to leave the wastage in open air and thus recovered its losses that occurred due to this safely removing of wastage.

ECI: The practitioner hired by ECI came to know that there are several unskilled employees and few of them are involved in the illegal activities. He launched a training program for the existing employees instead of hiring new skilled employees and advised the management to fire the employees that are involved in illegal activities.  

Required:

In all of the above three organizations some sort of progress took place. You have to prove with logical reasoning that in which organization the actual concept of Organizational Development is implemented by discussing each organization separately.

i have studied in detail and discovered that it is most closely representing the concept of OD...

Aim is just helb each other within discussion and guidelines!

So these are guidelines from view themand  attempt solution by your own self. First off all solution is hidden in  case  so  read carefully

Let see in given case which chemical company have AdvantageS and  which company have  disadvantage and how many ???? and accordingily attempt….

Advantage and disadvantage also because:

But Now it obviously seems that ECI ve 2 advantages and no disadvantage  so you guys should  go with it for actual concept of Organizational Development is implemented.
