Change management has focused on identifying sources of resistance to change and offering ways to overcome them. More recent contribution has challenged the focus on resistance and has been aimed at creating vision and desired future, gaining political support for them, and managing the transition of the organization toward them. One of the more fundamental proverbs of OD is that people’s readiness for change depends on creating a felt need for change. This involves making people either satisfied or dissatisfied with the status quo that they are motivated to try new work process, technology, or ways of behaving.
