Democracy is considered to be the best forms of government as compared to Dictatorship, Oligarchy, Monarchy and Anarchy. The democracy in Pakistan has been facing many challenges; and many people think the current political situation of Pakistan is in a dire need of substantial changes. Meanwhile, according to other perspective, democracy is being derailed in Pakistan by unconstitutional activities.

If Pakistani government goes for a change of system for the betterment of society, would it derail the democracy? Discuss yes or no with proper arguments and provide your fair judgment.

No, If we want any change in for betterment of society we can not de rail the Democracy.

Only Democracy can help a Country (society) to develop. There are many issues in our society. The Political Scientist Lary Diamond has written that ‘predatory, corrupt, wasteful, tyrannical, incompetent governance is the bane of development. There is simply no way to control or eliminate corruption if people don’t have access to the fundamental institutions of democracy: a free media, an independent judicianary and a system of free and fair elections. But It does not mean democracy will produce automatically good governance, Responsible governance requires political will, effective institutions, professional officials and aroused citizenry. But without democracy none of these things are possible.

Democracy important to people that it enriches their lives as citizens and recognizes their dignity as human beings. It helps people by making it possible for them to learn from one another through public discussions, there by facilating the definition of needs, prioprities and duties.

It also enriches the life of people in developing societies by promoting peace, both between states and them.

, I think, if Pakistani government goes for a change of system for the betterment of society it will not derail democracy. It will strengthen the democracy. Democracy is the best form of govt as compared to other, but in real there is no actual democracy in Pakistan Unfortunately in Pakistan, democracy is misused both by the government and opposition, which alter the shape of real democracy in Pakistan. Democracy is the government by people, and people attitude change with time, so changes is necessary for the betterment of society and it will not derail the democracy. Today, bio-metric elections are the demand of the time, and more convenient than traditional elections held in Pakistan.
