Scenario:

Ms. Ayesha has been working in the administration of a hospital for the last four years.  According to the rules of service, she is due for a promotion at the end of the year.  Her annual performance review is good and the department members all agree that she is a supportive and hard-working individual.

However, when the promotions are announced Ayesha finds that Mr. Ali, a person with just two years of experience in the position has been promoted over her.  When she went to the HR department, she was told that Mr. Ali was promoted because of his higher qualification.  However, the HR manager also said that it would be difficult for the department members to accept a female in a higher position of authority anyway and she should not take this as a reflection of her competence.

Questions:

1- Do you think this decision was fair and the reasoning of the HR manager justified?

2- Justify your answer with reasonable arguments.

No. coz its against rule of 4 years, 2ndly the reasoning of HR manager is Bakwas ,,,, why is he criticizing a female coz of gender

Biasedness is reflecting in manager's behavior regarding gender, It is against the legislation, should comply with equal employment opportunities regarding minorities and women

According to HR policy there is not any favoritism for promotions ,so Gender is not an issue with an HR department.
HR can not describe that reason But the Qualifaction is the most important factor of Promotion.

I think No this decision was not fair but the reason of HR manager was not good. Managers do not want to see gender. Manager should want to see her working and her experience.

I think the decision is fair because having higher qualification has more value than having more experience but the reasoning is not fair because there should be equal employement oppurtunity both for men and women and women can also work at higher positions as men.........!!!

Bhai according to me high qualification is important because it is mentioned in the case that Ms, Ayesha told the department that Mr. Ali has been promoted over her due to high qualification..... 

Faisal ( saeed ) said well because some where it is truth that mens are more good at decision making point than women. It is also the point ( Saeed ).

Yes i agree Saeed bhai qualification is important and with experience. please explain how is this fair. His decision is good for performance but he told reason is not good. 

no , because her annual performance is good its means she have qualification that why she is doing her job good , if some one have only higher qualification and he didn't prove it that means he can not do job like Ayesha . so don't judge people with only so call higher qualification.
