Scenario:

A Pharmaceutical Company hired Mr. James as a new HR Manager. James identified some potential problems in company policies. As the new human resource manager, James planned to change the individual-based approach towards team-based work. James developed the new management team which comprised of quality control, manufacturing, distribution, marketing and human resource managers. They drafted a new mission statement for the company that focused on developing a team based and high performance culture. Teams trained, worked and developed plans together and adopted the technique of 360-degree feedback. Mr. James also decided to change one more policy related to employee compensation plan. James felt that in a team-based environment, outstanding performance should be the criterion for pay raises instead of the same annual pay rise. After consulting with the CEO of the company, James sent a notification to all employees declaring the change to team-based pay-for-performance. But not a single employee was happy with the change.

Question:

Keeping in view the above scenario, do you think that the team-based pay-for-performance plan is a good idea? Support your answer with logical reasoning.

MGT501 GDB Solution It is ideal for the company to implement the pay-for-performance plan for the employees, it is ideal because of the following reasons. • Equality Because it is team-base performance so every employee will get equal pay. • Discourage individualism Team-base discourage the individualism because if one person does good work then he gets good pay. • Promote to work in team In team-base every person gets promotion in their work. • Discourage the favoritism In individual system sometimes one person close to his bose but in team-base this discourage the favoritism. • Increase performance In team-base performance will be increase automatically. • Increase productivity In team-base productivity will be increase as compare to that person who is working alone. • Task achievement Team-base people will get achievement in low time. Note Please don’t copy paste write it in your own words. Otherwise your marks will be zero

yes it will not be suitable for team based pay for performance because in team based incentive all employees get equal amount of benefits whether he do work better or not

It is ideal for the company to implement the team based work because of following reasons.

 

TEAM Stands for. Together Everyone Achieve More.
Boosting Performance. In the team based work approach performance of the individuals as well as of the team increases many folds.
Enhancement of Learning. Team base worked provide learning environment for all the members of the team.
Increasing Productivity. Team based worked approach increases the overall production of the company.
Salary and other privileges. In the team based approached salaries, bonuses and other privileges are given on the base of the performance of the team but not on the performance of the individuals.
High performance culture. The different teams working in the same company will create a high performance culture in the company that is beneficial for the company.
Group Learning and planning. Planning, training and learning are provided in the forms of teams but not to the individuals.
360 Feedback. Team based work approach will provide a 360 degree feedback
