Objectives:

  • Comprehend the meaning, its use and implications
  • To analyze different flavors of ethics, morality, law and etiquettes

GDB:

Morality has five popular standards to follow, and you have read them thoroughly. The standards of morality stand at different levels of society, and we are somehow related to all of them. Following case will help you to segregate three standards and you will see that how we can distinguish these levels from each other.

Case:

Mr. Sheldon has been working as an HR manager for the last 8 years. His ethnicity is Hispanic by mother and British by his father. So he is emotionally inclined towards these two races and prefers to hire people from these ethnicities. By law, he has the right to choose most suitable candidate for the vacancy, so there is no legal restriction on him in this regard. His close friend Mr. Wilson, who is working as Manager Admin in the same company, belongs to a British family, but he always ask Mr. Sheldon not to be racist and try to take decisions on merit. Mr. Sheldon said that there is no legal restriction on him, so no need to take care of it. But Mr. Wilson always talks about morality, value, and ethics of these practices.

 According to my views TAIMOOR NAZIR is 100% right. He is giving favor to the candidate who belong to ethnicity same like his ethnicity. This refers to 2nd level ( conventional Level) of morality.

But i think as well as Conventional level he is violating the impartial consideration. Because he is adopting partial(favorit) people as he wants he is adopting them 

in my point of view he is not violating but he is following the conventional level..... so it is violation of third level

All is confusing discussion. No any body knows what is the right answer.

i think that we should tell the level from those which hsve been mentioned in the GDB. there are five level and he is violating impartial considration, preffered values and adequCY.

Morality and Business Ethics

 

“Somebody who cars” uttered shock that I seemed “proud” to be cart work slight the USA.

This raises some exciting issues on business, ethics, and morality.

Initial the use of business is to crate a profit. Free enterprise in and of itself is a system. A business in and itself is a structure.

Now how we conduct business does have right and ethical weight. There is much behaviour below:-

  1. Deceptive people with imprecise information
  2. Slackness in safety
  3. Monetary misconduct
  4. Non- Spirited practices like conspiracy
  5. Dishonesty and fraud
  6. Environmental damage
  7. Emotions
  8. Unbiased considerations
  9. Ideal values

 

The are many behaviors that are good effects to do and l lot also make for good business such as behind your local society with liberal work by crating jobs and by working hard to make your set a great place to work.

 

Kohlber`s six stages can be extra usually grouped into three levels of two stages each: Pre-Conventional, Conventional and Post-Convention later Paget`s constructivist necessities for a stage model as described in his Theory of Cognitive Progress it is very rare to revert in stages – to lose the use of top stage abilities.

The kind gained in each stage is retained in later stages, but may be regarded by folks in later stages as basic, missing in ample notice to detail.

 

Pre-Conventional

The pre-conventional level of moral logic is mainly ordinary in children, while adults can also reveal this level of logic. Reasonless at this level judge the ethics of an act by its direct penalty. The pre-conventional level consists of the initial and next stages of right growth, and is solely afraid with the self in a selfish way.

 

In Stage one (duty and penalty obsessed), persons focus on the direct penalty of their trial on themselves. For example, an act is perceived as morally wrong as the executor is punished. "

An example of duty and penalty obsessed morality would be a child refusing to do rather as it is wrong and that the penalty could result in penalty.

 

Stage two (self-interest obsessed expresses the "what's in it for me" position, in which right manners is defined by at all the person believe to be in their best interest but implicit in a thin way which does not judge one's status or affairs to groups of people.


An example of self-interest obsessed is when a child is asked by his parents to do a task. The child asks "what's in it for me?" The parents would offer the child and reason by giving a child an payment to pay them for their tasks. The child is forced to do task for self-interest.

 

Conventional

The conventional level of moral logic is classic of youth and adults. To reason in a straight way is to judge the ethics of trial by comparing them to society's views and expectations.

 

In Stage three (good intentions as firm by social consent), the self enters society by conforming to social values. Persons are open to support from others as it reflects society's views. They try to be a "good boy" or "good girl" to live up to this hope, having learned that being regarded as good profit the self.

 

In Stage four (authority and social order duty obsessed), it is main to obey laws, saying and social convention as of their value in maintaining a running society.

 

Post –Conventional

The post-conventional level, also famous as the just level, is clear by a rising insight that persons are divide entities from society, and that the persons own view may take priority over society’s view; persons may defy rules inconsistent with their own values

 

In Stage five (social deal obsessed), the world is viewed as hold unlike opinions, rights and values. Such perspectives should be equally valued as unique to each person or area.

 

 In Stage six (universal ethical ethics obsessed ethical logic is based on abstract reason using entire ethical values. Laws are valid only in so far as they are stuck in justice, and a vow to justice carries with it an duty to violate unjust laws
