Objective of GDB
The basic objective of this discussion is to make students familiar with the importance of cultural values and its implications.
After attempting this GDB students will be able to:
Cultural understanding is critical to observe consumer behaviour in the marketplace. Culture always evolves over time and the values, beliefs and norms are transformed from one generation to the other. As it is the sum of total learned beliefs, values and customs that direct the consumer to show certain behaviours in a particular society. It helps individual to communicate, interpret and also dictate how to judge the other member of its community. Study of culture is very important to understand the consumer behaviour because in different societies consumers behave differently for example Pakistani consumer’s needs, wants and buying behaviours are different from the people who are living in other part of the world. Marketers dealing in international markets count these cultural differences while designing their marketing strategies. However, due to globalization some common values are emerging in international markets.
Keeping in mind the above mentioned scenario, in your opinion can global companies execute the same marketing strategies in different countries irrespective of cultural differences or they need to customize their marketing strategies? (5 Marks)

no they cant adopt same strategy in all culture
they surely need to customized their strategy for example an aid of wine is allowed in Europ or non muslim countries but not in Pakistan
Pakistan people have lw income so you cant offer them high value and very high quality products as they cant purchase
some customers ar interested in doscount while some are in extra unit of producs
