The Case:             

The Octo Studios, an emerging online clothing brand with the tagline” Outfits are Now Octo Fits” signifies the current fashion trend and exclusive life style of the modern generation.Being an online clothing brand, the customers have the facility of shopping online any time around the clock anywhere and anytime. Octo Studios has developed from its original roots as the status t-shirt brand, into a complete lifestyle brand. The most enduring phenomenon for the youth has been invented. Their product varieties such as; t-shirts, pants, chinos, khakis, mufflers, formal shirts, joggers and sneakers are exclusively designed as per the contemporary fashion requirement of their esteemed customers. The sparks that ignited the idea for Octo Studios is the willingness to innovate in the clothing domain. Octo Studios uses the best technology to combine quality and design into trendy and functional clothing. Brought up to continually re-invent, rejecting the past, and always embrace the future. For their brand promotion they are using renowned social media sites such as; Face book, Twitter, Pinterest and Google+ where the customers can get the entire product details and can order their desired product there and then. Their goal is to target a very specific clientele that has been overlooked until then. Currently their targeted customers include consumer group of ages 18 to 35.

Dealing with an online brand is more difficult and challenging to handle; as customers cannot try out the brand physically before purchasing, that is why promoting and selling a brand through physically existing outlets is considered as more reliable, feasible, and preferable in customer perspective. However the trend is shifting gradually with the advent of more and more online brands.

Point of Discussion:

Since Octo is an online brand, so in your opinion how could Octo effectively manage customer relationship & increase their engagement towards their brand?

Marking Scheme:

The total marks of this GDB are 30; mention at least 6 points in detail to justify your answer. Each point carries 5 marks; avoid irrelevant text/material while answering the question.

For acquiring the relevant knowledge, do not rely only on handouts but also watch the course video lectures and read additional material available online or in any other mode.

 

Important Instructions:

  • Your discussion must be based on logical facts.
  • The GDB will open and close on above specified date and time. Please note that no grace day or extra time will be given for posting comments on GDB.
  • Use the font style “Times New Roman” and font size “12”.
  • Your answer should be relevant to the topic i.e. clear and concise.
  • Do not copy or exchange your answer with other students. Two identical / copied comments will be marked Zero (0) and may damage your grade in the course.
  • Books, websites and other reading material may be consulted before posting your comments; but copying or reproducing the text from books, websites and other reading materials is strictly prohibited. Such comments will be marked as Zero (0) even if you provide references.
  • You should post your answer on the Graded Discussion Board (GDB), not on the Moderated Discussion Board (MDB). Both will run parallel to each other during the time specified above. Therefore, due care will be needed.
  • Obnoxious or ignoble answer should be strictly avoided.
  • You cannot participate in the discussion after the due date via email.
  • Questions / queries related to the content of the GDB, which may be posted by the students on MDB or via e-mail, will not be replied till the due date of GDB is over.
  • For planning your semester activities in an organized manner, you are advised to view schedule of upcoming Assignments, Quizzes and GDBs in the overview tab of the course website on VU-LMS.
