Underlying Concept:Global brands are reshaping the local cultures in countries around the world. In some cases thisreshape has been very significant and in some parts of the world local cultures came up stronglyagainst this impact of global business practices and resulted in the absolute rejection of the globalbrands. The underlying reasons behind acceptance and rejection of global brands depend upon a lotof socio-cultural factors derived from religion, traditions, and norms of that particular region.
You need to come up with the detailed description of any 02 brands having global appeal andpresence which were launched successfully in Pakistan within last 15 years and were warmlywelcomed and accepted by the household consumers due to cultural compatibility of these brandswith the local culture.
You also have to come up with the detailed description of any 01 brand having global appeal andpresence which was launched in Pakistan within last 15 years but was completely or partially rejectedby the household consumer market in Pakistan due to incompatibility of the brand with the localcultural attributes.
Furnishing Directions :
• You can select the brands related to household consumer market only. I.e. selection of brandsrelated to business to business market environment is not permissible.
• You can choose brands related to any industry and any product category
•Detailed description of brands ought to include:
�� Brief introduction of the brand including nature of product in terms of categorizationunder a product category and an industry
�� Year of Brand launch along with nature of business mode i.e. fully owned / Jointventure/ franchise agreement/ licensing agreement/ social business enterprise
�� Reasons encompassing cultural factors responsible for acceptance or rejection of thatparticular brand. State any 05 reasons.
