Dear Students,

 

This is to inform you that the additional facility for communication through Skype for SPRING 2014 semester will now be active. This free of cost medium of communication will facilitate you to contact your internship supervisor for discussing your problems and queries related to this course in less time.

In order to join your supervisor on Skype, it is advised to make your Skype ID with your student VU ID and send it at your course e-mail address; so that you can get the “friend request” from your supervisor. You will accept this friend request to connect with your supervisor.

With every facility, there comes a responsibility. Now it is your sole responsibility to carefully read the “Do’s & Don’ts” of using Skype and religiously follow them to get maximum benefit out of it

We hope that you would get maximum benefit from this facility.

The weekly schedule of SKYPE communication is as follows:

11:00 am to 12:00 noon

 

Note:

The first session will be conducted on Tuesday 29th April, 2014.

Timings have been mentioned as per Pakistan Standard Time (PST).

 

Do’s and Don’ts for Students to Utilize Skype Facility

 

Do’s:

  • Use Skype as an additional source of communication along with MDB, E-mails and telephonic conversations.
  • While creating Skype IDs, it is preferable to use VU ID as Skype name.
  • Send your Skype ID at respective course e-mail through your VU e-mail ID.
  • Use this facility in order to discuss Internship course related issues ONLY.
  • Use formal language while communicating through Skype.
  • Follow the announced time schedulestrictly.
  • Update the Skype version on regular intervals.
  • Request your supervisor to start group chat (if required).

Don’ts:

  • Send friend requests to supervisor through Skype as supervisor will send you the request after receiving your Skype ID via course e-mail
  • Send any file/assignment through Skype.
  • Leave any message(s) on Skype other than scheduled time.
  • Use incongruous/inadequate language on Skype.
  • Unnecessarily protract/prolong Skype call/chat.
  • Make any video call.
  • Create/Start group chat.
  • Use Symbols & Smiles.

 

Make Sure to read & follow the provided Do’s & Don’ts while utilizing Skype Facility. In case of non-compliance, disciplinary action can be taken as per the rules & regulations of University.
