The population of a town is increased at the rate of 5% per annum. If at present the town’s population is 8000, then in how many years the town’s population will increase to 9261?  (Hint: use the analogy of compound interest formulation)

P = principal amount (the initial amount you borrow or deposit)

r  = annual rate of interest (as a decimal)

t  = number of years the amount is deposited or borrowed for.

A = amount of money accumulated after n years, including interest.

n  =  number of times the interest is compounded per year
