Q1 =7434 and Q2=1750
need solution
Let the original salaries of yasmeen and adnan be Rs. 1x and Rs. 2x respectively.
Then, 1x + 3000 = 40
2x + 3000 57
57(1x + 3000) = 40(2x + 3000)
57x+171000=80x+120000
57x-80x=120000-171000
-23x=-51000
X=-51000/-23
X=2217
So the present salalry of Adnan is =2x+3000
=2(2217)+3000
=4434+3000
=7434

Q1. The Salaries of Yasmeen and Adnan are in the ratio 1 : 2. If the salary of each is increased by Rs. 3000, the new ratio becomes 40 : 57. What is Adnan's present salary?
Solution
Old salary of Yasmeen = x
Old salary of Adnan = y
Present salary of Yasmeen = x + 3000
Present salary of Adnan = y + 3000
Multiply the eq(1) by -40
Add eq (2) and eq (3)
57x – 40y = -51000
-80x + 40y = 0
-23x = -51000
Put the value of x in eq(1)
2x – y =0
y=2x
y= 2 * 2217.391
y= 4434.782
Present salary of Adnan = y + 3000
So,
Present salary of Adnan = 4434.782 + 3000
Present salary of Adnan = 7434.782 ≈ 7435
Q2. A man spends 2/7 of his income on food and 3/7on clothing. If he still saves Rs. 500, what is his total income?
Solution
Let’s spouse that
Total income = x
Spends on food =
Spends on clothing =
So,
Hence the total income of the man is Rs.1750
thanks 4 guidness
Solution 1
Old salary of Yasmeen = x
Old salary of Adnan = y
Present salary of Yasmeen = x + 3000
Present salary of Adnan = y + 3000
Multiply the eq(1) by -40
Add eq (2) and eq (3)
57x – 40y = -51000
-80x + 40y = 0
-23x = -51000
Put the value of x in eq(1)
2x – y =0
y=2x
y= 2 * 2217.391
y= 4434.782
Present salary of Adnan = y + 3000
So,
Present salary of Adnan = 4434.782 + 3000
Present salary of Adnan = 7434.782 ≈ 7435
solution 2
Let’s spouse that
Total income = x
Spends on food =2/7x
Spends on clothing =3/7x
So,
x = 2/7x +3/7x +500
x= 5/7x + 500
(7)x= (7)(5/7x + 500) ( 7 are multiply b/s)
7x= (7)(5/7x)+ 500(7)
7x=5x+3500
7x-5x=3500
2x=3500
x=3500/2
x = 1750
Hence the total income of the man is Rs.1750
