check ur 1st question the value in x2 is wrong.

 at the f(x3) correct value is -2.375 instead of -0.375 In 2nd ques.thats y x4 & f(x4) is also required changing in calculations.


In 1st, there is mistake in x2 & x3.

sis i solve 2nd question many times and 1 get -0.375

ans. yehe ata hy -0.375

dear i also solved it many times but i got every time same this -2.375.

f(x3)=(0.5)^3-3(0.5)+1

      =0.125 - 2.5

      =-2.375

f(x3)=(0.5)^3-3(0.5)+1

      =0.125 - not 2.5 its 1.5

=0.125 - 1.5+1

=1.125-1.5

=-0.375

=0.125 - 1.5 + 1

=0.125 - (1.5+1) 

=0.125- (2.5)

= -2.375
