PHY101 Physics Assignment no 01 solution and discussion due date 27-11-2014

Assignment 1: (Fall 2014)
PHYSICS (PHY101)
TOTAL MARKS: 25
Due Date: 27/11/2014
DON’T MISS THESE Important instructions:
To solve this assignment, you should have good command over first 10 lectures.
Upload assignments (Microsoft word) properly through LMS, (No Assignment will be accepted through email).
All students are directed to use the font and style of text as is used in this document.
Don’t use colorful back grounds in your solution files.
Use Math Type or Equation Editor etc for mathematical symbols.
Write to the point and avoid from unnecessary explanation. Don’t copy/paste from internet or any other source.
This is not a group assignment, it is an individual assignment so be careful and avoid copying others’ work. If some assignment is found to be copy of some other, both will be awarded zero marks. It also suggests you to keep your assignment safe from others. No excuse will be accepted by anyone if found to be copying or letting others copy.
Don’t wait for the last date to submit your assignment.
Question. No: 1
A set of frictionless wheels are attached to the bottom of a box, which is then measured and found to have a mass of 6.0kg. The box is placed on the floor, and a student of Physics uses a brief horizontal force of 150N to push the box sideways, after which the box rolls across the floor with constant velocity. How much Work does the floor do on the box as it rolls along?
Marks 6
Question. No: 2
A student of Physics with a mass of 60Kg performs an experiment by taking a scale into an elevator, setting it into floor, and standing on it. At first the scale indicates a weight of about 600Newtons, but then the elevator starts to accelerate downwards at 5m/s2.Calculate the value of weight indicated on the scale during this period of acceleration?
Taking acceleration due to gravity (g) = 10m/s2. Marks 5
Question. No: 3
An astronaut standing on the moon holds a large, heavy rock and a small, light stone, and then releases them from the same height. Which object reaches the moon‘s surface first?
Note: Select the best choice given below according to your best of knowledge, and also write the reason of your selected choice as well.
a) The rock, because it‘s heavier and accelerate faster
b) The rock, because it has a greater force of gravity acting on it.
c) The stone, because there is less air frication acting on it.
d) They reach on the surface at the same time because their acceleration due to gravity is equal.
e) Both the rock and stone will just float there when released-there is no gravity on the moon.
Marks 3+4 = 7
Question. No: 4
A large 1.5Kg book rests on the surface of a rough table, and a horizontal force of 60N (to the right in the sketch shown above) is applied to it. If a frication force of 35Newtons opposes the motion of the book, determine the value of acceleration with which book will accelerate?
Marks 7

hnsty nai help krty hain :)

post daikho btaya hai

The only force that floor can exert on the box is friction and the box is attached with the frictionless wheels. Which means force due to floor on the box is zero. So whatever the distance is if force is zero then work done is also zero.

sana sis ... maina apko 70 % solution bta dia hai. Chalo mai thori or help kr deta hu. Is scenario mai koi work nahi ho raha kyunki yaha per acceleration zero hai.

Lol I feel pity for all of us, how we made fuss out of a simple question and made it look like a so tough question.
But credit goes to that first person who started all that acceleration and distance finding thing and convinced us that work exists Lol. I didn't even read the last line of question and kept calculating .

hahahaha you are saying right kisi na sai say question ko read he nai kia but ye question sab ko bohat benifit da gia hai hater bro ab sab question lazmi theek tareqy say read krain gain

Behavior Good Grades Consequence Reward is Given Expected   Change Good will be continued in the future.

Justification:  I was aware of the fact that I will be rewarded every time I get good grades hence I continued to do better in the future,

This is just the case #1 em not sure about this other two, working on them. Hope this is correct?

p.s this is operant conditioning.

sir solution to send ker deinnnnnn...........
