Determine the dc load voltage and turn ratio for the circuit shown below.

Solution

SOLUTION:

Primary voltage is in rms so we can calculate the peak voltage

V1 (pk) = Vrms/0.707

= 60/0.707

= 84.86Vpk

Primary voltage and turn ratio is known so we can determine the secondary voltage

V2 (pk) = (N2/N1) V1pk

P;liputting the values we have,

=33.94Vpk

Now load voltage can be calculated as

VL (pk) = V2/2 – 0.7

putting the values we have,

= 33.94 /2 – 0.7

= 16.27Vpk

Now dc value of the voltage can be calculated as

Vave = 2VL (pk)/ Π

putting the values we have,

= 2*16.27/ Π

Turn ratio is

N2/N1=2/5    =  0.4

Solution:-

For diodes are ideal than,

When voltage reaches to 5 voltage the diode D1 will conduct and diode D2 will not conduct. And also when voltage ranges to negative 3.0 voltages the diode D2 will conduct and D1 will not conduct.

Therefore positive voltage above +5 voltage and negative voltages below – 3.0 are clipped off and the resulting waveform will be as shown below.
